Contrary to what most think, the word tapas actually means "to cover". Rooted as a tradition in Spanish culture, socializing patrons of restaurants would cover their wine glasses with small plates to protect their beverages from insects and small pests while outdoors. At Savor, we pay homage to this ritual in our own unique way. The urban and chic atmosphere invites locals to step outside Amarillo for an evening and into another place entirely.     Wonderful ambiance with an interesting menu and nice wine selection. We shared tapas and a Caesar salad as well as the scallops and filet, all were outstanding. Highly recommend!

    Food was excellent and server was attentive and kind — the vibe was a bit eclectic and mismatched feeling. We requested a booth but sat at a table by the kitchen door — I was disappointed because the booths weren’t in use and it cheapened the feel of what we hoped would be a nice evening.

    We found SaVor highly ranked among dog friendly places in Amarillo and reserved a table on the patio. When we arrived, Justin (manager) acknowledged the chilly temperature and led us to a private room to enjoy dinner with our pup. We dined on tapas - the artichoke flatbread (with bacon) and hummus were delicious. We followed with the mixed greens and Spanish Caesar salads, both fresh and tasty. Our teenage sons enjoyed the crispy onion shrimp tagliatelle and prime beef ragu - both plates were cleaned👍🏻 My husband and I split a perfectly cooked ribeye and the table shared brussel sprouts and orzo mac and cheese - all terrific. Justin’s wine recommendation was on point and the s’mores dessert ranks in our all-time favorites. Our server, Andrew, was attentive and knowledgeable. This is a hidden gem in Amarillo. Run, don’t walk if you live there or, like us, are passing through.

    I had a lovely night with some good friends on my birthday. Always love the food at Savor, a beautiful fine dining restaurant, great service. I love the wine that our waitress recommended. Spicy and silky from Portugal. High recommend!
