Fine Italian dining coupled with great service an extensive wine list as well as interesting cocktails and deservedly wears the the crown of the Negroni capital of Brisvegas. Some of the best Negroni's I've ever had with a large range of rare and tasty combinations. Always look forward to Sasso's

The aircon didn’t seem to work and it was hot inside. Doors were kept open . The Pizza was burnt and too salty. The cocktail was good. The pasta dishes were ok. The fish tartare needed seasoning. Overall pretty average food.

Another great experience. Has become my favourite restaurant for when I visit Brisbane. Don’t miss it! My mum was in a wheelchair and they look after her and my son has (PKU- a genetic disorder that impacts diet) and they sat down worked out a meal for him- even thou his diet is difficult! My mum keeps saying his nice the meal was and she has dementia so unbelievable that she remembers! Something about Italian hospitality and great food that brings me back to this place again and again. Highly recommended and not to be missed.

Have had dinner at Sasso many times but had never been in at lunchtime until today. The vibe is a bit quieter in the day time, with the food and service as fantastic as always. Sasso is amazing and definitely worth visiting multiple times to get the full experience!

Seating inside is definitely a better experience - the decor, atmosphere, and lighting make it feel more appropriate for the price of the food (which was good value nonetheless). Food ordered: 1. Tuna tartare - fresh, clean flavours but the crackers kinda suck 2. Grilled Octopus - faultless 3. Spaghetti with tomatoes, prawns, and shellfish - light, tasty, clams and mussels were a tiny bit sandy 4. Sausage and prosciutto Pizza - delicious but probably didn't need all. the dollops of cream cheese (?) 5. Pistaccio Bombolini - perfect, super sweet but couldn't get enough (reminiscent of a deep fried ice cream)

Food over salted for all our dishes. Disappointing pasta, slightly undercooked. A bit too al dente. I’ll stick to pizza if we visit again

The food was good and had decent cocktails. However the service was terrible. We entered the venue for our booking, and there was very few people in the restaurant, and several staff standing around and talking to each other. We stood there for a couple of minutes whilst staff continued talking to each other, even after they looked at us, ignored us and continued their conversation. A staff member had to come out from the kitchen and prompt them to serve us. Their attention to us through the meal service was inattentive and slow, with one of the young servers giving attitude. Will spend my $500 elsewhere next time. Very disappointing, will not be back

Was looking forward to trying this restaurant, love my Italian, however experience was extremely disappointing. We ordered 2 glasses of wine, prior to ordering our entree. After several minutes, probably at least 10, we asked to order our entrees. Entree came out, 2 dishes, separately. After the first we asked about our drinks, which they clearly had forgotten, as they pour the wine at your table. The mussel entree came with the bread sitting in the sauce, so half the bread was soggy and unappetising. One mussel was off, putrid in smell, that my husband had to spit it out. Reported to the waiter and were offered a free dessert. Mains weren’t any better. Squid ink seafood pasta sauce was almost identical to the sauce the mussels were in, dish was not enjoyable. Cannelloni was edible, however lacked full flavour and was similar to eating a microwaved dish. Free dessert was calzones and I didn’t enjoy them. Overall staff were inattentive, however nice when they were serving and the food completely underwhelming leaving my husband ill for the night. We will not be back and caution anyone thinking about visiting.

This was our 3 visit to Sasso. On our previous 2 experiences I would give this restaurant 5 stars…service and food. But on this 3rd visit it was very disappointing. The waitress left us longer than expected to take our food order (I think we had almost finished our first drink) our empty beer bottles were left on the table until we mentioned for them to be removed. Our Burrata came without bread or biscuits, when I asked a waiter walking past for some bread to go with it, he could not speak English! I understand I’m in an Italian restaurant, but still!? The main meals were good, but not as ‘wow’ as our previous experience. The waitress who initially looked after us seemed to have disappeared (even though I could see she was still there) we were lucky to get another waiter towards the end of the evening who saved the day. He was delightful. Bringing our twins who turned 20 that day a complementary tiramisu with a candle for their birthday. Overall an average visit to Sasso, and I unfortunately won’t be rushing back.

Hello, Thank you for review. We appreciate your feedback, and we’re truly sorry to hear about your recent experience, and we’re happy to hear our waiter was able to make your twins' birthday special. We always aim to deliver excellent service and food, and it's clear we missed the mark during your visit. We have passed your comments onto our restaurant manager and head chef, particularly around the service delays and communication issues. We recommend ordering one of our house breads to pair with the burrata, we are sorry to hear this was not recommended to you. We would love to hear more about your experience and how we can continue to improve. Kindly email us bookings at sassoitaliano.c om.au. We look forward to hearing from you, and hope to make amends. Thank you kindly, Team Sasso
