We have dined there on two previous occasions and the food was exceptional. However, last night’s meal was underwhelming. We had Lagos sourdough as an entree/served bruschetta style, it was very good. We asked what the fish of the day was and we were told it was whole snapper. This was described on the menu as a larger plate designed for sharing. We ordered the snapper to share between my wife and I and when it arrived, it was in actual fact a very small farmed barramundi. I questioned the waitress and she assured me it was snapper. As we don’t mind barramundi, we didn’t bother arguing but there was only a couple of mouthfuls each. The salad which came with it was quite tasty. Soon after we started eating, the manager, to her credit, came out and apologised for the misunderstanding. Besides the error in advising us re the wrong fish, our biggest disappointment was the small size of the meal which had been advertised as a larger meal suitable for sharing. At $45, it was not good value. Despite this, we will come back as we have enjoyed our previous meals at Salt and Spencer.

Poor service staff seemed disinterested No beef for beef burgers How is it acceptable to serve frozen fish at a beachside restaurant with cold chips Quality of food generally below standard for a sit down restaurant. Could of had same at local takeaway

Supreme location- service was fine if not enthusiastic - confusing online time of day restaurant menu setup and cafe menu - that location deserves a slightly elevated vibe- but feels like an extension of the bistro above

Held off going to Salt and Spencer because of past poor experiences at the club's bistro. Sadly S&P not much better. Ordered Flathead fillets and chips. Fish straight out of a box and chips were just warm. We won't be back despite friendly staff and pleasing atmosphere.
