Saison is a two Michelin-starred, open wood fire restaurant under the leadership of Executive Chef Richard Lee, emphasizing the bounty of California’s evolving terroir and its incredible farmers, ranchers, and fishermen and women. Saison is driven by Lee’s dedication to purity and innovation, paired with a Grand Award-winning wine list in a dynamic space where guest and team celebrate an intimate, culture-shifting experience. Chef Lee builds upon Saison’s formidable foundation as the original fine dining establishment in the U.S. to use open hearth cooking, crafting nuanced flavors with intention that are inspired by the culinary diversity of Northern California.

Saison has one of the country’s largest and most remarkable selections of Old and New World wine, with a special emphasis on Burgundy, originally established by Saison Hospitality co-founder and Saison Winery winemaker Mark Bright and now curated by Beverage Director and Assistant General Manager Molly Greene.

    This year, we are offering four days of celebration to honor Valentine’s Day. Join us for a special menu by Executive Chef Richard Lee, highlighting luxurious ingredients such as caviar, duck, and the bounty of Bay Area seasonal produce. Optional wine pairings as well as a Champagne progression will be available. The price of the menu is $388 per person not inclusive of beverages, service, sales tax, and the San Francisco mandate. This evening, we are unable to accommodate most dietary restrictions, including vegan, and free from allium, gluten, dairy, soy, finned fish, or mushroom.     What a great way to sample the Saison experience. The wait staff gave just the right amount of attention. Made us all feel welcomed and cared for during the dining experience. I went in for the food, which was excellent as I expected, but was most impressed with the service.

    Quite an amazing experience to end my trip to San Francisco. Heard great things going in and Saison didn’t disappoint. Excellent service, attentive, and the food was approachable for a non “food snob” and very delicious. Great time overall!

    The aggressive 80s and 90s rock/pop music choice severely detracts from the experience; I’m shocked it persists time after time at the restaurant. Particularly annoying when you get the bill and realize the feel of the restaurant is more gastropub than hyper-fine dining. The food itself isn’t bad, but relative to the price point, you think about the Taco Bell cantina across the street and start assessing relative utility and value. The elevated wine pairing didn’t have any standouts and didn’t serve to elevate the meal - it was just nice wine that happened to be served alongside the dishes. Staff is fantastic, though - quite knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable.

    It is not easy to get a Michelin star. It is much harder to get 2 and to hold on to them. The impeccable attentive service and delectable, innovative and beautifully presented dishes make it clear why Saison has 2 stars. And the wine list is simply spectacular. I do not get to SF as often anymore. This was my 2nd visit to Saison. My first visit was during its first iteration under a different Executive chef. The new setting is now both more sophisticated and comfortable. And the wood fired preparations still take center stage. A truly outstanding experience.
