   Very popular and somewhat noisy. The popularity is well earned by producing excellent food with outstanding service. I’ve been before and will be back. It was friends first time. We were seated near patio door and constant opening and closing made for a chilly experience. Otherwise, maximum star ratings all around.

   Food was ok. I have been several times over the years. The Brussels were very oily. Brisket was dry. They have good Mac n cheese and cocktails.

   More than ample portions. Grilled oysters were excellent. Steak was good but not exceptional. Spareribs were beautifully presented but dry. Sides were excellent. Service excellent,

   Always fun and delicious to dine at Ruthie’s! The Cobb Chicken Salad is a hit - the deviled eggs and fried chicken take it to the next level. Will be back soon!

   I think perhaps our expectations were just too high. We got off to a rocky start, when despite having a reservation and seeing open tables throughout the restaurant, we were left waiting for a table. We were told the tables were all for later reservations of big parties. That might be the case, but that doesn’t make our reservation for two (at 5:30) somehow disappear! Our waiter was fine, but seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but there. Most of the food was also fine, nothing remarkable. Except for the octopus - I found it inedible. The smoke flavor was awful and there was no taste of seafood at all. My husband, not one to send back food, ate it anyways, but would certainly not order again.

   This is a very popular place so making a reservation is key. We started with apple donuts with a raspberry jam which I would order again and again. I had the fried chicken Cobb salad which was tasty and came in a generous portion. Two of our party ordered burgers and both gave the thumbs up on those. The restaurant also has a nice variety of hot tea and coffees. The food and drinks were fantastic.
