   I had visited Rustico's original location on Lake Street in Oak Park when it first opened. I was not impressed. My family and I checked out the Oak Park Avenue location last night and I was in for a very pleasant surprise. This is a completely different, wonderful restaurant! All of our dishes were top notch and the service was very attentive. Also, it was completely full of diners. Obviously, my neighbors have been on to a great thing before I was. I'll definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely evening, Rustico!

   Early dinner at 5:30 p.m. Very open upon arrival. Became lively and a bit noisy in certain areas.Enjoyed our spot tucked into the wall on the North side deep in for conversation. Quality of food very good. Fried calamari especially tasty; seasoned well. Crab cakes good. Manhattan cocktail done well with the appropriate square ice cube. Eating at the bar would be a pleasant option.

   We had a great dining experience at Rustico! Started with Fried Calamari which was really good, not greasy at all. We had Paella which was delicious, the short ribs which were excellent, and chicken piccata which was very good. They have a great menu with so much to choose from along with a good selection of wines by the glass. Great service as well!

   We were very happy with our dinner here. Our waiter, Oscar, was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. We shared the mushroom soup (very good), Rustico salad (fresh & delicious), and the halibut (cooked to perfection, flaky and tender). Loved it all! We had a cozy table up by the front window, which we appreciated We will definitely be back.

   Rustico is a reliable go-to. The menu is vast but everything is good! Cocktails are good and strong! Great affordable wine choices too. The brussel sprouts on the tapas menu are standard roasted sprouts, but they have something in there that makes them unique--and a very healthy serving too! The spinach salad with the crispy serrano is not to be missed. Excellent service and no service charge tucked into the bill. I do wish Rustico would bring credit card reader to table instead of taking card away.
