About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Good for groups
  • Lively
Rumi's Kitchen first opened more than a decade ago in Atlanta, the result of years of development by Chef / Owner Ali Mesghali. Showcasing the flavors of Iran -- fresh herbs, kabobs cooked over an open-fire grill -- quickly won loyal guests at the original location in Sandy Springs, GA and set us on pace to open our first restaurant outside of Georgia in 2020. Rumi was a 13th-century Persian poet whose words and life teach us how to find inner peace, happiness and love. We invite you to Rumi’s Kitchen where fresh, healthy food and attentive Persian hospitality await you.

Food was great. Service was great. Our waiter was great. He was professional and very nice attitude. The value is a little issue though. More expensive than most of other persian restaurants. Overall experience was good.

Richard was our server- he was fantastic! It was my cousin’s birthday and he made it very special. The owner of the restaurant was there - great to see hands-on management! Best restaurant in town!

Wonderful service, our server answered any and all questions, made suggestions that were spot-on, and the food is terrific. We sat outside on a lovely evening (and it's a lot quieter than inside) and didn't feel rushed on a busy Friday night.

Be sure to visit Rumi’s when you’re hungry! You’re definitely going to want to try appetizers, an entree and dessert! My group ordered the stuffed grape leaves, hummus w/lamb and the cauliflower to start. I normally don’t like cauliflower but I could have eaten this dish as an entree- it was spectacular. They were also the best dolma I’ve ever had! I had the lamb shish kebab, which was cooked to perfection and the rice was fantastic. We also ordered the hanger steak. For dessert we had albaloo as well as the baklava. If you’re a fan of cocktails, be sure to try one - they were spectacular!

The food was magnificent. I haven't tasted rice as flavorful as what I had today, and the meat was equally delicious. The waiter was kind, attentive, and helpful. The prices were quite reasonable for such a wonderful meal, and I appreciated that they weren’t pushy about the tip (unlike other restaurants in DC where a 20% gratuity is mandatory).

A beautifully-designed restaurant with great service -- I've never had tea served in the way they did it -- so elegant. My friend was celebrating a birthday and we were brought a generous 3 servings of baklava, topped with a lovely ice cream. Delightful -- and the word was passed along to everyone we interacted with that it was her birthday and they each wished her a "happy birthday". Rumi's Kitchen is a favorite for special occasions.
