   I was very disappointed in the overall experience at Roy's. It was not what I had remembered from my experiences at Roy's in both Maui and in California. I will not return.

   We had an amazing dinner here. My 9 year old has some food allergies and they were able to easily accommodate him, and felt very safe. The food was wonderful! My 9 year old said after the appetizer that this meal was his favorite part of the entire trip and we hadn’t even gotten the meal yet. The service was great! I would highly recommend it!

   We went as soon as they opened for dinner on a Wednesday afternoon. It was quiet and we had a wonderful waiter who took his time explaining some of the menu items. We shared the seared ahi and the calamari appetizers which were both tantalizing on our tongues. We also shared the butterfish, a moist fish with a savory sauce and wonderful white rice. Our meal was capped off with an exquisite macadamia tart topped off with a generous scoop of ice cream. The mango mojito was also quite uniquely delicious. Needless to say we left fully satisfied and delighted with Roy's once again.

   Roy’s is a great place for dining. Our service was superb and the food was amazing. They consistently provide delicious meals with great flavors and quantities. We started with drinks and calamari and then ordered the butterfish and Au/shrimp combo for diner. Would highly recommended Roy’s and we will be back soon.

    Starting with the service, when we first got to Roy’s it was pretty empty because we had 7:45pm reservations and they close at 8pm. The service was mediocre, we were hardly checked on by our server, having to refill our own drinks at the bar twice…as i said, it was pretty empty due to the reservations being close to their closing time so my party and I were a bit baffled as to why we were having to refill our own drinks, the bartender had also apologized even though we hadn’t even made a comment about it which i feel is very telling on it’s own. I had noted in our reservation that we were dining for a Birthday and there was also another party there celebrating a Birthday as well and we didn’t get the same attitude towards it as the other party, as they left they got an excited and happy “Happy Birthday again!” from the servers, as we left there was no comment. We were very polite throughout the service despite how we truly felt because we understand that we all have bad days, i just can’t justify paying close to a $300 bill for mediocre service. On to the food, the food was great! Very flavorful! We got the honey mustard braised beef which was so tender and full of delicious taste! The potato gratin was also very yummy, nice crispy top and cheesy in between layers! For appetizers we got what was highly favored according to our server, furikake calamari and blackened ahi. Both very tasty appetizers! The kid’s menu was great at $19 per little one, it was almost like a pre-fixed menu that came with appetizers (grapes, celery, carrots, and cheese quesadillas), an entree (we got the braised beef for our little as well), and dessert (vanilla ice cream and sprinkles). They had an amazing selection of entrees for the kid’s menu, not your average chicken tenders and fries type of kid’s menu that i really appreciated because my little loves to eat! Overall, the service definitely could have been better for the price but the taste of the food and selection was amazing!
