A fun, energetic tribute to American Southern cuisine. Our dining room is bustling with high-energy just like our great Magic City. Our menus focus on local distilleries and local farms throughout Alabama; the menu is ever changing with only the freshest products on hand. Our dishes are whimsical yet elegant with a feeling of comfort to them.
Roots & Revelry departs from the norm by modernizing fine dining. It’s haute with casual undertones, southern with international influences.

Our Patio is not covered. Patio is weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, we will do our best to accommodate you inside but can not guarantee a table.

Reservations preferred, walk-ins accepted based on availability.

We are allotting 1 1/2 hours for parties of two, 2 hours for parties of four, 2 1/2 hours for parties six or more. Please call us at 205-730-1907 or email robert@roots-revelry.com for any parties over 8 guests.

The restaurant is closed and still taking reservations. This was very disappointing because we made reservations in advance and left us scrambling to find something last minute.

The place is permanently closed. OpenTable caused us to waste time and money because they haven’t updated their stuff. It’s absolutely ridiculous and I am owed something in return.

Restaurant Closed. Although I had a reservation, I was not informed of the closure until I arrived for brunch. I am extremely disappointed to have driven to the restaurant, only to find it closed. The building's condition was also in disrepair, with a noticeable odor of dogs.

The experience was overall positive. The hostess was also the waitress. When it did get busy, they were having to multitask. However was aware of the wait and made a point to apologize. We accepted and understood. Chef delivered food and stated they were short staffed at the time. Food was great and the dessert( bread pudding) was the best i ever had 👍🏾

We went on a Saturday night and everything was great about the service and the food. We’ve been there a few times, but this time there was literally no one else in the restaurant the entire time we were there. It’s just a little odd. I’m not sure what was causing it that night, but it was very quiet. This was also the same night. The album and football game was going on so there could’ve been some of that being the reason it’s just on a Saturday night. I was a little surprised.

Stop here during a work trip in Alabama and it was the cutest little place. Very regal with beautiful art work all over. Got to meet the Chef/Owner and he was so kind and even made some Brussel sprouts for us that weren’t on the menu. The food was divine !! The service was fantastic!
