   Trendy does not mean good. This is an overpriced burger and fry joint. One dish for one person arrived before our wine was poured . When I mentioned this to the server he replied “we bring the food out as the chef prepares it and we are busy tonight.” They then served 2 of the 3 salads that we ordered making one of our guests wait until the entrees were served to get his salad. His Caesar salad was composed of 50% croutons. My salad was too salty and the grapes in it were not fresh. The waiter never checked backed to ask us about the food until everyone had eaten theirs. The entrees were better but come with a few leaves of lettuce. You can order a side dish but 4 of the 6 choices are potato. We left feeling embarrassed that we had invited our friends to join us. The room was cold and drafty. We most definitely will not return.

   The shrimp I ordered was charred black and borderline inedible. I would have complained except our server didn’t once come by to ask us how our food was. Very disappointed given it was our special Christmas Eve celebration.

   Club sandwich had bone pieces in the shredded chicken but affogato was great. Have had the dip sandwich previously & was delicious. Along with the butterscotch brûlée.

   The setting is not as dramatic as the SF location and the noise level is high, but the food was tasty. The staff is not trained in polite table service; stretching across for water glasses, interrupting conversation abruptly and they did not know the menu as you would expect for fine dining.

   I’ve been to RH’s restaurant in Napa and had high hopes for the Palo Alto location, but last night’s experience left us disappointed. They are clearly short staffed because service was subpar. Although we were seated very quickly, our server checked in on us and provided us with water, but it took 30 minutes before they took our order for appetizers and drinks. We were almost done with our our first course before our server asked us about our mains. She also never offered to open our bottle of wine— we had to ask her to open it after we consumed our first course. When our main course arrived (we all ordered the steak), 2/3 arrived cold. Not warm or lukewarm. Cold. That being said, the food had great flavor, so kudos to the chef and the back of the house. The baguette and crispy artichokes were good; the blini was okay; truffle fries were good; steaks had great flavor, including the broccolini. The dessert menu was uninspiring and because of the level of service, we walked to Paul Fleming’s for dessert. I’m not sure I would return to the restaurant soon given our experience, but the ambiance was great! 😉 Wonderful taste in decor and lighting!

    Good food and great ambience but service is a little slow. They do a nice job of accommodating table requests and celebrate special occasions.
