We flew all the way from LA to spend a weekend in Tulum and we’re looking forward to our dinner reservations at La Playa Project February 1 at 9:45. We took a 45 minute cab and when we got to the restaurant it was closed down there was security outside and they said the people were tired. Our first night was ruined. We are incomplete shock and awe.. they even confirmed the reservation date and time through OpenTable. Be careful would not recommend.

Booked a table for 7 people celebrating our 5 year anniversary. This was ruined when turning up to the restaurant and rejected entry due a ‘private party’ even though the booking was confirmed. They then offered to honour the booking if we paid $400 a head entry fee… we did not except and went elsewhere. Do not recommend

Reservation was made back in early November 2023 for Dec 31 at @ 7:45 pm. We rush to get there and the reservation was not honored. The woman said she cannot because of the holiday and claimed it was a glitch. Couldn’t do anything for us, do not trust OpenTable to do anything for you

Well We arrived and the restaurant was empty We waited so long to order We ordered a cauliflower that was cold and not cooked as well that made us pain over night. We also ordered a pig that came frozen inside. My boyfriend ordered a steak well done and came uncooked and cold. Was the worse experience here in Tulum. We had stomach pains over the night that we couldn’t go to tour around the city we had booked.

Terrible experience, overpriced, had a reservation, they only let us have guacamole. When it was supposed to be an omakase experience

Nice beach setting but service could be improved. We walked around for a good 10 minutes waiting for someone to help with our table and we were right on time for our reservation.
