RedFarm brings a greenmarket sensibility to modern and inventive Chinese food and super-charged dim sum complemented by modern, rustic décor. Joe Ng’s menu takes a clean, fresh approach to Chinese food. Signature items include clever dim sum creations for which Ng is known and small plates: Pac Man dumplings; yuzu wasabi shrimp; mushroom spring rolls that evoke a chanterelle mushroom; and a sculptural chicken salad. Modern takes on classic main dishes includes remarkably tender marinated rib steak with steamed baby bok choy and spicy steamed sea bass.

RedFarm is located at 201 West 3rd St., in Downtown Austin, at the corner of West 3rd and Colorado Streets.

    The service was impeccable very informative! An on top of that the food was down right delicious!!! The beef fried rice is a must try! Along with the oxtail dumplings !

    Food was not as flavorful as expected and felt quality didn’t warrant the higher than average pricing. We did the express lunch - salad never came out and service was slow- we had to ask for check twice and had a party member joining late (we informed server). He ended up eating from our plates since no one came to take his order.

    After 30 mins past our reservation, we asked to be split up because they were running behind. We didn’t even get to sit together.

    The food and service was amazing! All of the staff was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere of the restaurant made you feel like you were no longer in ATX.

    I came here when they first opened and it was alright & decided to give it an another chance and so glad I did!! The food was delish, the service was great & the mocktails were so yummy. Alsooooo we got a chocolate dumpling for dessert and I’ll be thinking about that for days. Will be back!!

    The quality of the food was very good. The time and day we went the restaurant was empty, it was between lunch and dinner service so perhaps to be expected. That made the ambience a little extra quiet. We had the soup dumplings and those had perfect taste. The vinegar and chili oil came with the soup dumplings as expected. The trio veggie dumplings were very tasty and fresh too, the presentation was beautiful. After that we had shrimp Har Gow and that was perfect too. Then we ordered their Peking Duck with pancakes. The pancakes are super thin and made of wheat flour served in a steam basket nice and hot, the duck was perfect in every way, the toppings were abundant and nicely presented. We enjoyed the picked radish that came with it and the hoisin sauce.

    How a reservation for inside and got seated outside when it was 45°. For a special occasion having to get seated outside was not ideal. Service was OK and food was also just OK. Probably wouldn’t come back again only if I had to unfortunately.

    Food was very average as were the drinks and ambience. Most of the food was on the sweeter side of things and not something we enjoy. Definitely a let down as it was an anniversary dinner
