   Food okay. Service a bit poor. Forgot half our drinks order and had to re-order. Pub itself is lovely and perfect for stroll by the river.

   Food was great. Not great dog lovers and although on leads there for 4 dogs on nearby tables would wonder freely near to our table which wasn’t popular with the kids. Was offered the chance to move but the options were not much better so we stayed put. Good range of drinks for all the family, but it was 25 minutes before we even acknowledged by waiting staff and even then that was us who had to ask. Would have expected a slightly swifter engagement with our drinks order. Burger, sea bass, steak sandwich and the fish and chips were all superb though and the ambience and decor made for an overall good experience. A solid 3/5 from us.

   Our experience last night was far removed from what we came to expect from The Red Lion. There was one staff member front of house and her attitude could be improved by being more friendly and welcoming to paying customers. Food was good, but nothing compared to our last dining experience there in the summer. Only one niggle is that when serving a hot pudding the custard needs to be heated and mine was barely lukewarm. There was also a leak in the men’s toilets that had flooded the bathroom floor. An automatic 12.5% service charge is applied, but the service certainly didn’t earn it. Unfortunately, due to this we won’t be coming back.

   Relaxed, friendly place to meet family for dinner. Staff were attentive. Food very nice. Male toilets needed attention. A bit squished but it was Sunday and busy. Overall we had a nice afternoon. Thanks.

   Service was intermittently good. I really don’t like being called ‘Darlings’. Had to wait for bill and needed to leave.

   Food was so good definitely worth the money but definitely on the pricey side. Only downside was the service, was clearly just there to earn money not to provide customer service

   Was a busy Sunday so appreciate staff have lots of people to help and attend too! Food came in a reasonable time. One of our meals came out wrong. I had roast pork which was mostly fat and not a lot of meat so very disappointed. Desserts came but my two friends puddings never arrived. We had to chase this. Overall not great and wouldn’t go back unfortunately

   Really enjoyed lunch today. Limited menu though and a bit over priced. But food was tasty and well cooked. Would recommend.

    Forgetful staff, food was bland, not that great or quality considering the prices. Probably great for a Sunday roast (hopefully)
