   Fantastic meal with great service with great friends. We were able to enjoy our meal with a wonderful sunset. Thank you to the hostess for accommodating our table request. The softshell crab was some of the best we have had. Each main course was excellent and we enjoyed the show with the flambeau Mexican coffee.

   The ambience was beautiful for sunset pictures. The mixologist and cocktails were great. The desserts were terrible, the vegan cheesecake tasted like chalk and the cobbler was very odd with corn in it. Bring your appetite if you’re having lobster because they are huge. The wait staff were great!

   Three of the four of us thought the food was pretty average (e.g. the red snapper was overcooked and tough). In fairness we have eaten there before and had a better experience particularly for breakfast. Francisco’s service was excellent and he was very attentive. We still like Puerto Manjar and will dine there again on our next stay.

   Probably the restaurant with the best ambiance and beach view on the property. Loved it.

   This was our second visit to this place. Last time it was very nice. This time we went for Lobster Night and left very disappointed after a very expensive meal. The service was not good. It was more than extremely slow even by Mexico standards. After 30 min. we got a bus person who brought us water. Then after 45 min. we ordered our drinks. While waiting, the complementary appetizers came. The drinks came out in dribs and drabs, we had to ask for wine glasses as we sat for 15 min. staring at our unopened bottle in the ice bucket, while half our table had drinks. At this point an hour had passed and we hadn't ordered yet. We finally got our salads and then the main plate came. Two people had no problem with the lobster but two of us could barely eat it. It was unable to be cut with a knife. More than half of it didn't get eaten. For $150 pp, this is NOT acceptable. Note: they had run out of the smaller size so we had to take the medium at the higher price also. In addition, the tables were pushed together and uneven, but we couldn't see that with the placemats that were overlapped on them. One person's wine spilled on the uneven part. We asked for anther glass on the house. The waiter's helper said, Ok. Brought the wine, and then we were charged for it. The manager told us the spill was not their fault so too bad, so sad. Again, this is unacceptable. We will NEVER go back, because of the terrible service, food and refusal to make some of it up to us by replacing a glass of house wine. Goodbye Puerto Manjar

   Felt rushed as we were finishing. As soon as someone at the table is finished, the waiter is right there to take the plate and silverware away. Had to hold onto my plate so they would not take it so I could finished. The slowest eater is sitting there trying to finish as the waiter continues to circle repeatedly for the plate. We noticed that they do this for all the tables.

    Food and service were excellent. Terrific location on the beach with a great sunset. Highly recommend going to this restaurant.
