MADE A RESERVATION FOR MY FRIENDS BDAY AND WAS NEVER NOTIFIED WHEN MY TABLE WAS READY. PLACE WAS CROWDED, THE HOST AT ENTRY GAVE A FAKE, NASTY NICE ATTITUDE AND WOULDN’T SEAT US NOR GIVE US AN ETA ON WHEN OUR TABLE WOULD BE READY. SHE ALSO FAILED TO MENTION THE BAR DOWNSTAIRS. I OVERHEARD ANOTHER EMPLOYEE TELL ANOTHER CUSTOMER ABOUT THE BAR DOWN STAIRS AND HAD ASK THE HOST INCOMPETENT HOST IF WE COULD WAIT DOWN THERE IN THE MEAN TIME UNTIL MY “TABLE WAS READY”… HOWEVER THE SWEET MAN AT THE BAR DOWN STAIRS (Latino gentleman, heavy set (respectfully! <3) WAS THE ONLY THING I ENJOYED. HE WAS SO NICE AND HIS DRINKS WERE SO GOOD. THAT PLACE DOES NOT DESERVE HIM. 1/10 DON’T RECOMMEND. AREA IS SKETCHY AS WELL. FELT VERY UNSAFE WALKING BACK TO MY CAR.

Bartenders and servers were very attentive and kind, the place is overall gorgeous and unique looking, we really enjoyed the speakeasy downstairs as well I believe the bartender downstairs name was Phil? And he played some oldie speakeasy vibes music that really made it feel like an actual speakeasy. Food and drinks were delicious!! I think my only “complaint” was that our slider buns were a little bit too toasty for my taste. Definitely will be trying a brunch here next time!!

There is no reason to have the music so loud that customers have to yell to the staff and or eachother to communicate. You're mixing a club environment at a restaurant where people are sitting trying to have general conversations over a meal. There is a balance and whoever handles the sound fail to ignore the obvious observation of a room of people leaning in to one another trying to get their message across over the music. Also my vehicle rim ended up with a scratch from the valet due to them valet parking into the curb. I've been here before and it was good, what happened? Change of management or valet company? Both?

I was highly disappointed in this location. I’ve been to Riverside ProAbition which is fun, warm and inviting, good energy, great drinks, and good food especially the famous truffle fries. ProAbition DTLA was a horrible experience. Which is sad to say because I was really looking forward to brunching here. There was a dead carcass smell when you get deep in the building. When I asked about the smell I was told it was due to the raccoons outside and the manager burned sage to cover the smell up. I do appreciate her trying to do something about the smell which is partly why I rated 2 stars instead of 1 star. The air conditioner was blasting in 63 degree weather. And the food was just bad. My truffle fries were cold and hard. You could tell they were old. They also didn’t have the even coating of aioli sauce and Parmesan like the Riverside location does. It seemed it was thrown together with no care at all if the customer would enjoy it. Same for the Brussels sprouts. If you’ve ever been to the Riverside location you know the brussel sprouts hit! Not at the DTLA location though. I just had a plate of crispy leaves with chili flakes. It seems this location is more concerned about people turning up on subpar drinks versus a good full experience from beginning to end. The music seemed dangerously loud. Now don’t get get me wrong. I love a good brunch with great music. Their music selection was very good. But the volume was uncomfortably loud. I had to lean into my friend sitting next to me to hear anything she was saying. This place has great potential but it is poorly executed and lacks customer care and consideration. My friend expressed she was glad she experienced the Riverside location first because had she not, she would never visit another ProAbition again. And I have to agree.

Our particular server was not very attentive. The food was super salty (I got a side of bacon) and the French Toast was wayyyyyy too sweet. The appetizer (blackened chicken tenders) were just burnt overcooked tenders with hardly any seasoning. The Dj was lit and played some good music.

We were alone in the restaurant and the hostess asked if we’d like the music changed to our preference. That was a super sweet gesture. We were also visited by the bartender, hostess and server which was really nice. They made us feel at home
