Prelude is a restaurant that is reimagining Southern cuisine. As a team, we will produce and serve nostalgic Americana food and drink, inspired by the Bay Area. We will be using some of the best produce in the world, combining modern high-level cooking techniques and recipes passed down through the generations of our Chef Celtin Hendrickson-Jones maternal family. Our offerings will be available in two menu formats: a multi course pre-fixe menu with options for guests to handpick their dining experience, and “salon menu” featuring quick bites to larger plates, all ordered at the guest's discretion.

Loved the decor and vibe inside. Very intimate bar, with a cozy but refined interior. It felt like you were eating in someone’s nice penthouse and not just another restaurant. Food is well executed and I liked the vintage feel of the bowls, plates, and serveware.

The food is exceptional, the service is outstanding, the cocktail menu is thoughtful, original and tasty, bespoke NA cocktails available as well for those avoiding spirits. Beautiful decor, great music selection and nearby parking.

Very nice meal, really great cocktails. We had items off the al la carte menu, the pork belly, Snapper and Hominy grits were delicious (only change I'd suggest is maybe not pickled shrimp with the grits, might have benefited from something smoother, a butter poached shrimp?) A little pricey, but overall glad I went.

Ambitious and creative take on Southern low country cuisine that elevates even the lowliest peasant dishes to rockstar status.

Delicious Southern Food and great spot with great service. This place is a hidden gem - that won’t be for long, more people are discovering this spot with great decor and vibe. We got the beet/turnip salad Catfish dumplings Pork Chop Grits (must have - the glue for the entire meal)

An excellent new addition to the SF culinary scene. The restaurant decor is quietly elegant. The staff seemed happy and eager to provide a good experience to the guests. The menu is innovative. Sommelier Morgan made excellent wine recommendations. Will definitely be back.

Innovative southeast cuisine that would be right at home in Charleston, Savannah or Mobile, but with a San Francisco bent. The space has a feel of a very upscale living room: intimate, relaxing and classy. Great food and service. A very well crafted wine list that matches the cuisine, with wines back to 1964 but plenty of interesting younger choices at good prices. We had a great time.
