Pompei, on Taylor Street, is a fast casual “counter service” restaurant. It has a long-standing history throughout the Chicago area ever since it was first established in 1909. When first opened, Pompei served only baked bread and cheese pizzas. Over the years, the restaurant has expanded its menu to include many delectable dishes that have quickly become favorites for many of the locals while remaining true to its original roots.

The dine-in menu features Italian sausage, hand rolled pizzas like the Signature Pizza Pompei or the Four Cheese and Tomato, plenty of house made pasta like the gnocchi and cheese ravioli and an array of pizza strudels like the Beef Angelo and the Pompei Italiano. Pompei also features incredible, freshly made desserts like the chocolate cannoli, "Italian chocolate sheet cake", bread pudding and the Taylor street cheesecake. Enjoy Pompei's seasonal outdoor seating for a true Al Fresco experience. Pompei offers (3) private banquet rooms and catering.

We enjoyed our meal. We had a big group but we had to do some of the set up ourselves. The staff was accommodating insofar as helping us out with a picture but we had to ask twice for menus. My mother is in a wheelchair and access was adequate for her.

Really enjoyed this place and couldn't believe that I hadn't been here before. The food selections were plentiful and the food was very, very good. The place has a very inviting, casual vibe to it and the counter staff couldn't have been nicer.

Celebrated my Mom's birthday with our group of 17.... Everyone had a great time ... Everyone's food was just perfect! Loved how it was decorated for Christmas. Loved our table.. Felt very private on the enclosed front glass area. Very family authentic experience! Thank you!

I reserved a table for a going away luncheon for my supervisor. My co-workers and I truly enjoyed the fast and friendly customer service we received upon our arrival. Once we were situated with our beverages, within 10-15 minutes the food was served hot and fresh. We will definitely keep Pompei in mind for future luncheons/ outings! Thank you Pompei! -Simone
