Chef Ryan McQuillan’s creatively prepared dishes incorporate local ingredients sourced from the region’s lush farmlands and oldest running Farmers’ Market in the country. With handcrafted cocktails and spirits, wines by the glass selected from an extensive wine wall, and pints with local flair, Plough brings a new-age taste of Lancaster to the table.

Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Plough offers a delightful dining experience with "fabulous food" and "outstanding service." Their creative dishes, like the "crispy spaetzle" and Focaccia bread, are must-tries. The cozy atmosphere and attentive staff make it perfect for special occasions. While some find the prices high, the memorable flavors and ambiance are well worth it.

The Thanksgiving dinner here was absolutely fabulous. Although the service left a bit to be desired, I have eaten all over the world and have to say true kudos to the chef as the meal was so scrumptious it reached every metric one would have for the tastes associated with this festive meal, a kaleidoscope of flavors, colors and textures! Bravo!

Fabulous service from our server, and the food was outstanding. We drive down from Harrisburg all the time to Lancaster's cream-of-the-crop restaurants. Plough is definitely Lancaster's best kept secret.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal at The Plough. Their Thanksgiving meal was delicious - except we both would have preferred the Ocean Spray canned cranberry sauce (no judging). Our server Josh was engaging and attentive. Highly recommended.

Disliked everything about it. Service was bad. Male waiter was erratic. Water glasses are a joke. My pork was so dry. Cheese plate was ok but expensive. I will say nice looking inside. Looked like kids were cooking the food.

We sincerely apologize for your recent experience, as it is clear we fell short of providing the quality and service we aim to deliver. We’re especially sorry to hear about the issues with your meal and the service you received, as these are certainly not reflective of our standards. Your feedback about the pork, cheese plate, and service has been shared with our team, and we are taking steps to address these concerns. We’re committed to ensuring that every guest enjoys both their meal and the atmosphere, and it’s disappointing to know we didn’t meet your expectations this time. Thank you for sharing your thoughts—we value the opportunity to learn and improve.

It was my partners birthday and we came to celebrate at Plough. Extremely disrespectful waitress, reached over and opened my girlfriends menu and offered us a small plate for our “meal” and said if we wanted to just share that she understands and will give us a moment to pick one. Proceeded to walk away and return, to which we ordered off of the large plates section…because we wanted meals. She then broke down every ingredient within the meal I chose, which was not needed because the ingredients are all stated underneath the meals on the menu. Then my girlfriend asked for the exact same meal as me, in which she proceeded to talk slow and break down the ingredients to her as well…for the EXACT same meal. She was making very hard eye contact the whole time and speaking in a degrading tone. Her overall demeanor was very unwelcoming and harsh during all of our short interactions. I then had to request a new server. In which I was told I would be accommodated, but our original waitress made sure to be the one to run our food out to us and make a snarky remark about how “she won’t be handling us anymore and instead someone else would be.” I thanked her, trying to remain pleasant, and we carried on with the night. The new waiter (I believe his name was Steve…not too sure tho) was extremely pleasant and turned the night around for us. I don’t know if it was because of us being younger girls, or the fact I was dressed more down, or maybe because we were gay, but she treated us like true filth as much as she could while she did have us as a table. We overheard her being rude and short with some of the other tables she had, so it was a little reassuring to know it wasn’t too targeted lol. Still we won’t be returning, it was quite a damper on our celebrations and just left a poor taste in our mouths along with the friends and family we recounted the story to. She never gave her name but she was middle aged, white and had medium length brown hair that was in a braid with bangs

The only area that I think needs improvement would be the transparency of beverages or a listing of what beverages is available.
