   The restaurant service is always great from the host to the server as well as the food is always flavorful. On my visit, I was early and stopped by the bar before my dinner reservation. The bar setup was confusing as to where to order a drink with a stanchion setup that looked like it was so people could order a drink and a line on the otherwise where it looked like maybe people were ordering food. The actual bar had about four employees amd none of them looked super busy plus the lady at the cash register who was busy with a line. While I was in line, a guy stepped inside the stanchion and one of the ladies behind the bar helped him which made me think I could get a drink so I stepped over the stanchion only to be ignored by the four bartenders who again did not look busy. Ne of the male bartenders made a comment to the lady bartender who helped the guy that she should not have helped him. Indonesia know if he was a supervisor or co-worker. He had seen me standing at the bar, but chose not to say anything to me even if it was to tell me I could not order there. After being ignored, I stepped back over the stanchion. When I got up to the register, that same male bartender was standing there and I said to the lady at the register that the setup was extremely confusing (the stanchion should not be there in a way that looks like a pathway to go up to the bar especially when the bartenders are not busy). The male bartenders then went back to the lady bartenders who helped the guy at the bar and said something about people getting upset in which she responded "who is getting upset?" I replied, "I am. Though I am not really upset." The male bartenders customer service needs improving. Instead of making comments to the lady bartender, he could have addressed me directly. Does he not see customers as human beings? Why could they not engage from a customer service perspective when they did not look busy. If he is a supervisor, he needs training!

   We were early and they accommodated us. On request, they even provided toast that wasn’t on the menu. Classy dining!

   One of the most outstanding outdoor eating venues in Los Angeles. Beautiful courtyard, more secure than curbside outdoor dining -- and great food and dazzling restaurant/conference center.

    I have dined at Plateia quite often since it opened. Mostly I’ve eaten lunch but occasionally dinner. Almost always my experience has been very positive, last night however, I was very unhappy. There were three of us for dinner, myself, my wife and a guest. We started with the gem salad which was ample for the three of us to split and very good as usual. For the main courses, I ordered the bolognese, my wife the scallops and our guest the lamb. My wife did not want the vegetables (Brussels sprouts) that came with the scallops so I requested that they substitute with some potatoes. The waiter said he would try. We didn’t have any alcohol and one of us had lemonade. When the food came they served us and my wife got a side of Yukon gold potatoes. We had finished about half of our meal when I noticed that my wife was picking at her scallops. She said that she thought they were undercooked so I tried one and first of all it was cold and second it was barely cooked (scallop sashimi more than seared). I tried to flag down our waiter but evidently his shift ended. After about 5 minutes a different waiter came and I asked him about the scallops, he said he would send someone over. In a few minutes another waiter came and I asked him to ask the chef if the scallops were cooked properly. He took what remained and didn’t return. As we were almost done with our main courses I assumed that they would address my concerns on the check. We had dessert (2 apple tar tarts) and two coffees. When the bill came I was surprised that that’s no adjustment for the cold undercooked scallops, in fact no one came by to say anything about them. In addition the potatoes were not a substitute for the Brussels sprouts we were charged full price as an additional item. The bill was a bit over $200 - I am extremely disappointed with the service, the food and the value. Hopefully this was a fluke.
