   The food at Plate is always really good but we have experienced a roller coaster of service lately. We hate to see this as we may have to take them off our list and don’t want to. This evening we had very low quality service. There seemed to be an excuse for everything. Our appetizers and salads came out at the very same time which did not work for us and then to top it off, we were about 1/3 into our salads and the pasta entrees arrived. Eating that fast and having that many things in the table was ridiculous by in order to have a hot pasta, we had to start eating and I could not finish my salad. Lack of attention to detail was evident…..,for example, my water was never refilled and our coffee came out cold! It took forever to get a hot cup but our dessert had been delivered with the cold coffee so we had to go ahead and eat that as well without hot coffee. This did not work for us either. A Apparently the server had worked at the Leawood location and kept comparing the two for some reason? He seemed like a nice guy but needs more training in a big way. At the end a manage strolled by to ask us how things went but we had guests with us so we did not want to dwell on bad service in front of our friends, especially since we selected the restaurant to treat our guests! 🫣😩 Just not a good experience overall. As I said at the beginning, the food was very good, and they did honor our seating request which we appreciate. I do hope things will improve at Plate on 63rd!

   The food was just amazing. Highly recommend the gnocchi antipasti and the arancini was excellent also. We all had different entrees - salmon, pappardelle, cacio I pepe and pork cheeks. All very very good and the broccolini was also a delicious side. My son tried them all and contends the pappardelle was the best, but I have to say the pork cheeks with the duck fat roasted carrots and cacio I epe were exceptional also. We will be going back and trying the other location. Service was a little lacking, but I just think he had too many tables. Great experience nonetheless!

   I have been to Plate for Happy Hour many times, but this was my first time for dinner. We were not disappointed. We started with the pear bruschetta and truffle garlic bread and both were delicious. The Caesar and Moderno salads were both superb. Everyone at the table had pasta and each dish was delicious - we especially loved the Rigatoni. The dishes all had a little spice - which we enjoyed. Portions were perfect - not huge - but so good we all ate every bit. We ended with chocolate cake to share - which was also delicious. Service was great and so was the atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

   We had a great meal at Plate. The drinks were wonderful, food was excellent and just the right portions. We will be back!

   I had 2 cocktails, hoping the second one was better than the first. I should have gotten wine… The food wasn’t “bad” but my truffle gnocchi was mushy, greasy and had no truffle flavor. I had sturgeon fish and it was nice, but was served room temperature. Clearly it had been sitting out before being brought to the table. I liked the restaurant space and design. I won’t go out of my way to return, but I’m not blacklisting it either if I were walking by and hungry. However, I would get different things and certainly no cocktails.

   It took over an hour to get the two salads that we ordered. The waiter apologized, saying that they had a very large party but an hour for two salads was still an excessive wait.

   The veal was tough and the lamb osso buco lacked taste . Appetizers very good. When I complained about the veal the staff offered options but did not offer to take it off the bill. The wine was good! I’ll go back and try a pasta dish but it won’t be tomorrow.
