   The heated patio with amazing river views at Pizzeria Portofino was the perfect place to celebrate a college graduation with our family. The atmosphere was lively and filled with positive energy, our server, Keith, was super attentive and fun, and everything was delicious including the cocktails! We'll be back!

   We were five minutes past our grace period due to a late flight arrival and they were kind enough to still fit us in on the heated patio. The whole place was beautiful so no matter where you sit, it’s amazing. Food and drinks were everything I had hoped for our first meal to have in Chicago.

   Pizza Portofino went above and beyond for our family visiting Chicago from Ohio. We mistakenly did not consider the time change booking the reservation at home for 4:00pm arriving to Chicago looking for my reservation and it said 5:00pm. They did not even hesitate to help our party get seated within 10 minutes service amazing food with excellent service and we were out of there to get to our show in time. I can’t thank them enough for saving our amazing dinner at a restaurant. We visited several times now while we’re in Chicago. Will tell others about this amazing restaurant and be back when we visit again.

   We had a group of six and it was our first time at the restaurant. A great vibe as soon as you walk in the door. Food was amazing and our server, Jared, was simply fantastic. He was very attentive and had several great food and cocktail suggestions. If I had any complaint it was that it was extremely busy for a 4:15p appointment and we were felt like sardines in the booth that we were given. I wish we had a bit more room to spread out. Otherwise, it was a fantastic experience and I would definitely return.

   we have dined at Pizzeria Portofino many times in the past and enjoyed the food and service. Our latest dinner was another story. We had booked (and were charged an extra fee !) for dining on the covered/heated outdoor patio. When the forecast was for very cold temperatures the night of our dinner, I called the restaurant the day before to inquire how the covered outdoor eating area would feel. I specifically asked if we would be eating in our coats, and the hostess who answered the phone assured me that we would be "nice and toasty" with the double plastic coverings and the heat lamps. This was not the case. The wind was blowing through the room soon after we sat down. We had to eat with coats and scarves on. Gloves would have been nice as well as our hands were freezing, as was the silverware. Our food was freezing within seconds of being brought out. We did not enjoy our meal at all. I would not recommend dining in this space when the outdoor temperature is below 40. While our server was sympathetic, there was no other table to move to. In addition, the bussing service was awful. A team of bussers hovered and continually removed food that we had not finished, including tuna tartare, which was one of the few items that tasted okay cold. They actually removed the unfinished drink from my daughter's hand. Overall, extremely disappointed in the hostess for not being honest, in the uncomfortable meal and in the bad service.
