Piccola Cucina Osteria it's our gem in the heart of SoHo. The Chef and owner Philip Guardione opened in January 2013 to bring in the city the real taste of Sicily.
Friendly service with a buzzy atmosphere, all in a typical Italian restaurant setting. It is matched by home cooking like you would expect to eat in Italy, which is one of the keys to the success of the restaurant. Fully renovated in 2021 the location looks warm and cozy.

Our other two Piccola Cucina locations in Manhattan are:
Piccola Cucina Estiatorio ( 75 Thompson street )
Piccola Cucina Uptown ( 106 E 60th Street )

Piccola Cucina Osteria accepts online requests for parties smaller than 6 guests only.

I will always reccomend Piccola in every lifetime and every opportunity when the occasion arises. I particularly love this location for the feel. Yes, the restaurant is undoubtedly small and tiny, but because of this with the combination of excellent and warm service, it feels like you’re at a friends apartment who’s an excellent host having dinner. It is an unbeatable, unique experience. My partner and I came in September of 2024 during a trip to NYC and called it the meal of our year. We went yesterday for Valentine’s Day and it was show-stopping yet again. The pasta was so incredibly fresh and flavorful. The care, love, and time it takes to make the noodles to curating the dish was tasted, loved, and appreciated. We had two specials: the Lobster Linguine and the Apple Tart (unsure if it was a tart—it was demolished too quickly to really tell.) The Linguine was otherworldly, perfectly sauced and had a decent amount of lobster. Wild Ragú is a must, it’s why we come after all. And of course, table side made Tiramisu to finish because we would be dumb not to (and so shall you). I can’t wait come back to New York to come back to Piccola. I’d fly spirit just to come back.

This restaurant needs to be on everyone’s radar when you visit NYC. You will Not be disappointed. I visit NYC quite often, and this is by far the best Italian food I have ever had in New York. Authentic Sicilian, and not overpriced !!! Make a reservation because restaurant is small, yet cozy and enjoyable! Great Prosecco and wine list.

Food was delicious and service was on point. This location is really small, should cut one or two tables to fit more comfortably. Overall a great experience.

Really great. Cosy and intimate. Fantastic tempting warming pasta dishes. Inventive appetizers. Shared branzino for entree. Perfect spinach! Beautifully seasoned food and well priced. Lovely friendly service. Perfect winter dinner net washed down with a glass of montepulciano.

Two of us were sharing three dishes and the waitstaff helped us make dining suggestions. All were terrific. The rolled stuffed swordfish appetizer was a revelation. We are both good cooks who like to dissect how a dish is prepared and we were stumped. Thinly sliced swordfish was grilled, stuffed, and served with a subtle tomato sauce enhanced by grilled little tomatoes and rich black olives. We agreed that we would come back just for this. But I don’t want to give short shrift to the artichoke salad or the pasta with pistachio pesto and seafood ragu, both excellent. The Etna wine we chose was expensive but excellent, much better than Etna wine by the glass - worth the upgrade if you can afford it. Again, kudos the waitstaff for their assistance.

Be prepared to be transported right into Sicily! This quaint restaurant in SoHo exceed all expectations. I will say- the resturant is TINY. But it makes the experience intimate and unique. My mom and I had each tried a different wine recommended by the waiter, both amazing. We started with the Arancino Catanese (rice balls with meat rage sauce & mozzarella) and they were actually unreal. We then shared the Cacio E Pepe and the Gnocci with clams (it was the special for the night so not on the menu but I’m sure the Gnocchi on the menu is amazing as well.) I would skip on the Cacio E Pepe and order as much Gnocchi as possible because it was SO freaking amazing. Don’t get me wrong, the Cacio E Pepe was still good but it just didn’t compare to the Gnocchi. For dessert we had the Cannolis and chamomile tea. If I lived in New York I would visit over and over again! When I return this will be my first stop❤️
