   We ordered the Jampong Mussels, Chef’s Meat Sampler, Doeng Jang Jjgae, and Banchan.. everything tasted good. I mean it tasted as Korean food should, the meat was buttery soft and while I thought it odd to have to order banchan separately… it is unlimited, so there is that. The Jampong Mussels tasted good, but it wasn’t Jampong soup really, it was more Kimchee Jjgae broth with pork (so if you are pescatarian you might want to ask if they can omit or it may not work for you). The cocktails were lovely though (as many people commented… ) I had a Matcha Sour, I believe it was called, so good if you like sweet cocktails and the expresso martini was fantastic. In terms of the ambiance, it’s a nice moody sort of interior. It is dark at night, but because it is a corner restaurant it was nice to see all the night lights come through the windows. All adds to the vibe. All in all would I recommend? If you want to have a Korean experience, but in an elevated atmosphere then yes. The food is good, but was it phenomenal? No… it wasn’t like a Benu (from SF) experience, but could be a nice date night, special occasion, or somewhere you would bring a special guest… that maybe isn’t Korean? Honestly I think the bad reviews were mostly from fellow Koreans, (or at least those who are in the know about Korean food) but like I said it’s very good food, just not anything new or quantity wise, satisfying for the natives.

   Doesn't match the value of going to the burbs to a proper ktown BBQ. Don't kid yourself - look at how many Asians are giving positive reviews and/or eating there. Charging you $15l$20 for things that come default with Korean BBQ might work on folks that don't know better but ambience, service, and location in the city are the only benefits.

   The staff was extremely accommodating - we were celebrating a birthday and had several in our party with food allergies. They aced both the birthday and the allergies! Thank you for a fun night!

   We decided to try this restaurant for our 39th Anniversary because of it’s unique way of cooking in front of you. We were greeted with a card hand signed by some employees and a yuzu non alcoholic drink to toast to! We were also greeted by several employees and were wished a happy anniversary! Arden our server was very attentive and explained everything to us. It was nice to talk to him while he prepared our food. Arden was friendly but professional! This has been the hardest year of our marriage because of health issues but while we ate and talked we forgot all our worries. Perilla fare you made it a very special day for us and the food of course was all amazing! Thank you so much for amazing food and making us feel so special on our 39th wedding anniversary! This one we will never forget!!! :)))

   Tbh a disappointing experience. We’ve been here many times and we’re looking forward to sharing the experience w my brothers who live out of town. Our Rez was at 8:30 but we weren’t seating until close to 9. The grill didn’t work and kept shutting off so cooking took forever, there are usually 6-7 banchan, yesterday we got 4 (salad, white and red kimchee, raddish. No bean sprouts, potato, etc). I asked for only perilla leave for wraps and got one perilla leaf and a bunch of lettuce. The garlic rice didn’t arrive until the last 1/3 of the meal but normally it comes at the same time as the meat so they can be eaten together.

   Excellent service and food. Drinks are amazing! Always stop by when in town. Memorable and tasty Korean food and I’m from Southern California.

   What a great treat to have authentic Korean BBQ. All the food was delicious and the wait staff couldn’t have been more attentive or nice. Which I lived in Chicago so I could go more often but I’ll be back to visit my son and we will go again.

   Amazing. From the service to the food. We got the tasting platter and the amount is more than enough to keep you full. The shishito peppers were phenomenal. The broth they give was delightful and wish I had that recipe. Definitely worth the amount you spend here. The music is slightly on the loud side but other than that, everything was great.

    Food and service are excellent. It is however extremely loud especially for anyone who wants to have a conversation without screaming . They did turn it down but I’d recommend requesting a table in the back if you are bothered by very loud music
