The Pen and Wig is a haven in the middle of the city. We are a traditional pub a mere 3 minutes’ walk from Queen Street. We serve quality food until 10pm and we have an amazing beer garden that is in use all year round. We also have an ever changing selection of real ale that we source from our local breweries and also a few from further afield. We are very proud to have been included in Camra’s Good Beer Guide for last six years.

What a find! Ten minutes walk from the city centre, but well worth the effort! Outstanding food and drink (including a great selection of ales). An extremely good value destination for a family Sunday dinner.

Decently priced Sunday roast but the turkey was a bit dry in some places but it could’ve been because we had a later reservation at 7:30 PM. You have to order at the bar so don’t wait too long on them to come to your table.

Ideal for a lunchtime work meal. Great choice of drinks and food arrived very promptly and was of good quality. Have booked previously on a number of occasions and will certainly consider again.

We ordered the Sunday lunch, which was good value our only disappointment was that it wasn't as hot as I would have liked. The desert was good, and our waiter was excellent. I would eat here again.
