   Family enjoyed our evening at Paradiso. We have been several times before. It is one of our favorite places to dine out Italian in EC. It was our first time dining on a weekend night and top it off “Holiday” (Valentine’s Day) here. Servers seemed a bit overwhelmed even at our earlier dining hour of 5:30p before rush. All dinning stages took longer, more than two times the normal. Pizza was amazing as usual. Ying Yang Scallop appetizer fell short at $20. Scallops were well seared but lacked flavor and the plate was smeared with two ying white and yang black tasteless purées. The lasagna had no traditional layers it. More like a blob of meet sauce, with a thick not totally cooked lasagna pasta and a pound of cheese on top to finish filling up the mini iron skillet. Everyone in our party tasted this and the scallop appetizer and none of us were impressed. Would not order those again. We ended with one of there great desserts, the tiramisu. It is big enough to share with 4 -6 people depending on how much you really want to “share” ;-) Overall we feel service and food quality fell short this particular visit due to the holiday and increased guests. We didn’t feel the bill matched the quality of the food received for this particular visit. Nonetheless, we will dine again during less peak periods and/or do to go when needed.

   I always get eggplant Parmesan and loved it as always. My husband enjoyed the NY strip too.

   We were warmly greeted, we were seated and then seemed to be forgotten. Many tables of 4-6 people arrived after us, ordered meatballs which take longer to prepare and they still received their appetizer before we did. Our reservations were for 6pm, we arrived a few minutes early, and we finally got back into our car to leave at 740. We were a couple with no food allergies, ordered from the menu with no dietary restrictions. The manager, we are assuming, was very pleasant, helped clear plates, etc, but never checked on us. Our waitress asked us if we were enjoying our food after we were very clearly done with our meal. We were very hopeful and sadly we were highly disappointed.

   Food was awesome! The dining room was really noisy and it felt like the waitperson was covering a lot of tables - she was working hard, just had a lot of orders to manage.

   We traveled from Chesapeake to meet friends from Hertford at Paradiso to celebrate my wife’s birthday. This was our first visit to Paradiso and we will be back. Service was excellent, food was good and the view on the water was outstanding.

   My favorite place to be! The staff is unbelievably friendly, good service and the food does not disappoint. It truly is a special place and they are constantly developing their menu. My favorite app is the calamari. Served on a bed of flash fried kale. The best I have ever had. We always get a pizza, cooked a little extra. That char on the pepperoni is so delicious! We have had the same server for the almost 3 years we have been going. I love that they don’t have a lot of turnover. And they always remember you. Thank you for having such a great place in Elizabeth City.

   Amazing place to celebrate anything really! It was our first time, there to celebrate a birthday and I think 4 other tables were celebrating at the same time. Definitely make a reservation, the food is incredible. Remember this is from scratch and made to order, so it does take slightly longer to get your entree. But between the fresh baked bread, salad, and a starter for the table, you’ll be asking for a box to take leftover home!

    We had the best server. Loved her! The food is great. We always have the best time there. It may have been an off night for the hostess but she came off as rude.
