Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Palace Café offers a captivating New Orleans dining experience with "life altering" crabmeat cheesecake and "extraordinary" service. The Sunday Jazz Brunch is a standout, featuring a "festive ambiance." While some dishes and service may be inconsistent, the jazz band and delicious Bananas Foster enhance the vibrant atmosphere, creating a memorable visit.

Great food and relaxing atmosphere. The crabmeat cheesecake appetizer was awesome. My wife enjoyed her Pasta St. Charles and I lived the Peppered Duck. Definitely will eat here again on our next visit to New Orleans.

The Palace is a happy, convivial space with dining on two floors. We sat upstairs, my wife and me comfortably together on a banquette. Our waitress did a great job, hobbled a bit by slow performance of the bar. The list of wines by the glass is unimpressive; there is a good variety of grapes and regions but examples of each are mid-shelf at best. We were not offered a list of wines by the bottle so I can't comment, but we didn't plan to drink more than a glass anyway. The food is very well-prepared. I'd say the appetizer (fried green tomato caprese) and sides (two different vegetables) were outstanding, my duck entree perfectly good but unexceptional. The rum cake for dessert was flavorful and sweet but a touch dry inside. (I'll note that the bannanas foster prepared at the next table looked and smelled spectacular.) Pacing of the meal was spot on. Overall a very pleasand dining experience which would be enhanced with a better wine program.

Had a late lunch. They sat us a window table which was perfect and the waiter Nigel went over and above and had great suggestions!!! It had been over 30 years since I’ve been there and still was amazing!

It’s a beautiful establishment with good service. The food was good, not great. My family had the pork shank, beet salad and pasta. Singers came to the table and were fun and enjoyable. If you have to drive, get the valet service at the Marriott a few steps away.

The service was great, menu was a bit limited for a full service restaurant, but enjoyed my overall experience very much so.

Our waiter was terrible. He forgot to put in 2 people’s order for appetizers and when we asked he was going to check on it. He blamed the kitchen. He rolled his eyes for any request or when ordered more drinks

Came here for the first time in 2015, and second time 2025. The shrimp tchefuncte and the banana foster were as good as I remembered. The service was on the slow side.
