    Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford, introduced afternoon Tea in England in year 1840. Lunch had become a “skimpier” meal, so of course, the Duchess would become very hungry around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, far from when dinner was served around 8 o’ clock in the evening. The Duchess found taking an afternoon snack to be such perfect refreshment that she soon began inviting her friends to join her. She found a light meal of tea (usually Darjeeling) and cakes or sandwiches was the perfect balance. There are no rules to the spread of food, but the standard for Afternoon Tea comprises a layer of sandwiches, a layer of cakes and a layer of scones or tea cakes.

    Seasonal salad was not nearly as good as it was last year. Meal felt rushed and food was subpar sadly. Have come here many times and was disappointed this time

    Oxford Exchange is worth the hassle of scoring a reservation, trying to find pay parking, especially on event days then waiting for your table reservation because everyone tends to linger. Conversation can be challenging but so is deciding what to eat from their diverse menu. If you have a group of 4 or more go for the Tower! Something for everyone!

    The food was really good and the holiday drink was well done. It was pretty loud but it was crowded so I get it just made conversation a bit difficult at times.

    We enjoyed our meal and the food was delicious. The staff and service were excellent. The noise level was a bit overwhelming. Street parking is limited and the lot across the street charges $10/2hours. We had a nice time but it was not as relaxing as we had hoped.

    Food was delicious but expensive for breakfast. Coffee was underwhelming. Ambiance and service were as expected for the venue. Overall we’d recommend this for a treat - especially if expensing the meal to someone else’s account (which we weren’t). We’l do it again with special visitors, but it’s outside our price range for casual dining.

    I have been to Oxford Exchange several times. The food is never really memorable and we go there more for the experience and ambience. However, this last visit was a nice surprise. The food was actually very delicious. I’m not sure if they changed chefs but keep who you have now!

    Absolutely delicious food in a beautifully designed and decorated place. Better to make a reservation than walk in. Mind the dress code. Parking lot in back, shared w church, was $10 when we went 12/16/24.
