    Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford, introduced afternoon Tea in England in year 1840. Lunch had become a “skimpier” meal, so of course, the Duchess would become very hungry around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, far from when dinner was served around 8 o’ clock in the evening. The Duchess found taking an afternoon snack to be such perfect refreshment that she soon began inviting her friends to join her. She found a light meal of tea (usually Darjeeling) and cakes or sandwiches was the perfect balance. There are no rules to the spread of food, but the standard for Afternoon Tea comprises a layer of sandwiches, a layer of cakes and a layer of scones or tea cakes.

    Lived here two years and hadn’t made it to OE and everyone said you have to go there. Wish I would have gone sooner:) I had friends visiting and I took them there and it was amazing! The Eggs were so delish along with the bacon and potatoes:). We sat out on the patio which was really nice with the trees and the glass rooftop. I will definitely be going back. Only downside was that I wanted to buy the book by Tabitha Brown -I Did A New Thing which was the book our check was brought in and we could sign. Apparently there were 26 in store but no where to be found:( otherwise all good!!

    We booked this place for my friends birthday brunch. We are from Jacksonville fl, and since we planned to be in Tampa this weekend, we wanted to check this place put since it was on our to go list of places. It did not disappoint, the service was great the food was amazing , definitely a must try!

    Great Sunday brunch at Oxford. We have been many times before when our son went to University of Tampa. Garden room was beautiful although extremely loud for conversations. Food awesome except fries were cold. Seemed front of house was under staffed. Will be back, but trade the Sunday brunch for weekdays! Beautiful restaurant, love vibe .

    To start with the acoustics of the place are awful… I sat inside and it was unbearable the noise was actually damaging to my ears… In addition I ordered the French toast that I would not recommend to my worst enemy! It was dry and poorly prepared. It was as if made with very hard bread and they did not bother to soak property… it was awful, for the price they charged I thought I would be narveled and instead was very disappointed!
