When we arrived at 6:15pm, we were only the 2nd party there and only about 1/5 of the place was set up for service. The hostess was wearing "Juicy" brand sweats and seemed more interested in her phone -- kind of depressing first impression, overall. The buffet had a good selection and even some interesting options, but I imagine the food is being brought in and is not cooked on-premise. They need to figure out how to keep everything hot. Most items were room temperature at best. The (cold) spiced shrimp were decent and the fried catfish too (catfish was not hot, but still crunchy and tasty). Desserts would have been better if purchased from Costco -- very lackluster rice pudding, cookies, and brownies. Trusted this place would be nice for my wife's birthday before heading over to the concert ... but we definitely won't be returning.

Excellent food as always. We prefer the Neyla offerings, as we're not so much into fried (Southern) food

It was our first time at Ovations last Saturday and it didn't disappoint; excellent first impression and location, as we were going to the Gipsy Kings concert at the Wolftrap after the meal. The food selection and the presentation were great. On the other hand, there are way too many tables on the dinning room, so it's hard to go from the buffet to the table; it feels crowded, and the service was not up to par with the rest of the offering; it was disjointed and [unfortunately] our server was not able to communicate properly with us in English. Overall, very good. We'll be back.

The food was absolutely wonderful! Their coffee machine was broken and since it was the last meal of the season they hadn't replaced it. Coffee would have made the meal absolutely amazing! The service was not good at all. It's a buffet so the waitstaff should be removing used plates when we go to the buffet. Our plates piled up two deep. Also we had to ask for refills on our water, didn't get them, so I took a glass of water from a table that had been set up but was unoccupied. Then it was a lengthy wait to get our bill. With that being said... the food made it worth it all!

Food was just okay, servers were friendly. Thought overpriced but since it was right there at Wolftrap it was convenient for walking to the show.

Run, do not walk from this place. The food is terrible, service spotty at best, and all is horrifically over priced. The only positive is the location/convenience. Do yourself a favor and take the time to organize a picnic from Whole Foods or any of the other great take out spots in the area. We go to Ovations once every year hoping (assuming) things will improve, but they do not. Will never return.

It is not very allergy friendly. There need to be more options that are free of alliums in my case. I don't see why everything has to have onions and garlic in. The staff are very helpful but as it is a buffet they are limited in what they can do.

Service suffers after Labor Day...College summer hires have returned to school. As such, table service and Buffet maintenance (slow in refilling food item choices on serving line). Desert table had dwindled to only a couple of remaining items by mid dining. Visited Ovations pre-Labor Day and all was well.....

As it is located right on the property of WolfTrap and serves buffet style fare from different area restaurants; my review is simply based upon the evening that I attended and I can't review for following evenings. the food was good but WARNING - get there early because they don't appear to replenish the food and if it is gone you're out of luck. We arrived at 615 for an 800 show (Steve Martin and Martin Short). By the time we left I could see that a lot of the choices were gone and not replaced.

If you want to dine out and beat the crowd at Wolf Trap AND not carry a full Picnic- this is the only available restaurant. And they know it. It's a $35 buffet with the same food for 2 yrs now. It's just over priced. The food is usually cold when it should b hot, dry when it should be moist and "fancy" when it should just be normal. The spicy shrimp might be the best thing there but messy. The potato salad is watery, the fried chicken cold. I hope they have new vendors next year.
