Had our favorite sushi in Pittsburgh by far with the 15 course Omakase experience. Alan's menu (our sushi Chef) was perfect. We had the pleasure of experiencing a wide variety of food, and each course itself was amazing. This was coupled with fantastic service by the knowledgeable and attentive Noah, making for an awesome experience. Even if you don't want to do the Thursday Omakase experience, you have to try this place. Between the food, the service, and the views it should be on your list if you love sushi.

Overall, our experience at OTARU was exceptional. Our evening started with warm hand towels that bloomed into flowers in front of our eyes. Our server, Noah, expertly guided our party of four through the menu. With his suggestions in mind, we ordered an array of dishes among us and enjoyed every one. Special shout outs go to the roasted salmon entree and the wine selection. This is not even to mention the view of the city. I would recommend both OTARU and Noah to any diner and we definitely will be back! Five stars.

Fish was fresh and delicious and beautifully presented. Angela was an awesome server—she did not rush us and she was very knowledgable about the food. The view was spectacular, too.

Thank you so much Allen and Angela for making our first experience at OTARU unforgettable. We had the 16 course omakase. The fish was very fresh and Allen curated each dish to deliver new flavor profiles unlike any other sushi restaurant. Angela, our server, explained each dish so we knew exactly what was in everything as well as recommending great drinks. We had the OTARU old fashioned and lychee mojito to drink which were very balanced, delicious cocktails. Overall a very pleasant experience and would definitely go again whenever we are in the area.

Fantastic birthday celebration.. some of the best sushi we have had since leaving Japan.. our server Angela was so knowledgeable.. the selection was fantastic and the food top quality

Food was incredible and the drinks were some of the best I've ever had. Our server Angela gave great recommendations and had great energy. I highly recommend the treasure box and the rose sangria.

We ate at Otaru for the first time this evening, and I'm happy to say it was an incredible experience. I previewed the menu prior to our reservation, and it certainly did look daunting. However, our server Garrett and another server Angela made incredible recommendations and helped us create a memorable dinner. We opted for an appetizer of pork and shrimp buns and the portion size was great - in fact we could have split them. For our main course we were spoiled with delicious selections from both the Otaru Course and the Otaru Experience. I'm sure that we could have split one or the other, but having an individual portion of the amazing cold fish selections was great. We most definitely left with very, very full and happy bellies! Thanks for a great birthday meal, Otaru!
