   There was not enough parking space. It was not fun to walk 2 blocks under the rain on NYeve. Food was not extraordinary. Many items are out. We were disappointed. Our server was excellent though and neutralized the experience

   It was NYE and they made it very special! Even though our table wasn't ready at the reserved time, we went to the bar and waited. The bartenders were polite, fun and attentive. The drinks were amazing! After awhile we were sat at a very nice table. My only concern is that it was right next to the server station and we could hear everything that was going on behind the scenes. The NYE menu had delicious choices, but we were very disappointed that one of our favorite desserts, bread pudding, was 86'ed. Not good when the choices are limited to begin with. The server was pleasant and attentive, but we could tell that he was doing what he had to do instead of enjoying the vibe of the evening. Overall, the evening was very memorable and enjoyable. It is a beautiful restaurant and the staff was very friendly and hospitable. I would probably go back to see if I can make this a 5 star experience, instead of a 4.

   This is a full review of the Cavalier New Year Party to include the Orien’s Roof dinner and the party at the Cavalier. Dinner server was good and professional. Prices were extremely high. Specialty cocktail drinks were $22+. Dinner was fair but not special. I had the short rib and it was flavorless like a plain pot roast. Biggest complaint with the dinner was it was extremely slow. 7:45 dinner and we did not leave for the NYE party until 10:30. We skipped the desert course so that we could enjoy at least some of the party before midnight. It was raining and there was a huge queue to get from the Marriott to the Cavalier. They had 1 shuttle and it was extremely slow…especially just going back and forth across the street. I had to order an Uber to get across to the party The party was ok. The big main stage band was mediocre. Off key signers and very inexperienced guitars. They had good energy but with all the talent in HRD, you would expect the best at this level of party. The Raleigh room trio was very good, although I have a pet peeve about singers reading lyrics off their phone. Kind of Karaoke for me. The BIGGEST issue is the lack of bartenders and the huge time wasted getting a drink. This is a cash bar for Gods sake…bartenders work primarily for tips. Two bartenders per station when 6 would have been the correct number. We waited in line for 35 minutes for an expensive 4oz cocktail and a beer. There is such potential for this party. It is a shame that I feel compelled to write this review, but I’ll never go back unless these issues are addressed.

   At the price point for NYE, I was expecting what I’ve gotten at other similar pri-fix menus in other locations - high quality and chef thoughtfulness. To start the menu was literally wrong and incomplete almost entirely for my gluten allergy, and I could only eat one item per section. Thankfully I asked before ordering because I saw discrepancies or I would have gotten very sick. Unfortunate experience as I was so looking forward to it!

   What an outstanding experience with the only thing that topped the food and the atmosphere was our server Hanna!Well done Orions Roof and thanks for making our New Years Eve Dinner so enjoyable

   Service was not great- our order was mixed up and we were served the wrong food. Do not feel that the food was worth the price. Also feel that the restaurant was too dark inside.

    The Asian-American fusion cuisine is exceptional. The view and ambience are stunning. Fantastic bar with cocktails that can’t be beat. Service is the best in Va Beach and your parking is validated. Do not miss this restaurant if you are in the area!
