At Old Wharf, we stand in the historical location of former jetties, piers, homes and taverns from where, since the 1800s colourful traders, merchandisers, exporters and explorers have shipped Tassie’s renowned produce across the globe.

Chef Simon Pockran and his team acknowledge this history by creating a menu that celebrates and explores Tasmania’s traditional family dishes. Reimagined and refined, this menu gives the nod to our past while championing our celebrated produce and boutique Tasmania growers.

    FOOD: My burger was delicious, juicy and filling. My sisters loved the grilled chicken and were happy that their specific requests were met (picky eaters, those two). My mother thought Tasmanian Salmon was delicious while not being 'too heavy'. SERVICE: Our severs, Olive, Romeo, Summer and Ajeet were polite, attentive and helpful. The kitchen team were also very friendly even while preoccupied with cooking. AMBIANCE: Plenty of space between tables but still cozy and warm. The lighting arrangement was soothing and elegant.

    The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely. However, our table was located in a crowded spot next to the cashier. It would have been nicer to be seated in a quieter area, especially since I had made a reservation in advance.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Old Wharf Restaurant. We tried the filet, bone in pork chop, broccoli, dinner salad and fig pudding. We found each prepared perfectly and presented beautifully. If we didn’t live over 8000 miles away, we would definitely come back again.

    Excellent location, food and the view was just stunning. Tables set a great distance apart, so you don't feel like you are invading anyone's space, lighting perfect for evening dinning 10 out of 10. The only thing that could have been better was the service it felt rushed as we had only been seated for a matter of minutes when being asked if we were ready to order and this theme continued until we placed the order. The wait staff were friendly and pleasant just maybe wait a bit before clearing drinks. plates etc so customers don't feel rushed.

    Great waitress / service. food was good but pricey for the quality. The wine menu was also substantial even for the Tasmanian wines. Not really the kind of restaurant to be charging those prices. They need more price variations especially when I know some of the wines are at 300% markup.

    It's fantastic, the staff was very attentive the seating so convenient. The setting and ambience it's breathtaking. Not to mention the food is very aromatic and tasty. I am satisfied with my overall dining experience. Would love to dine in here again definitely recommend. 🤩🤩

    Had a wonderful meal hear with a dear group of friends. The staff was very attentive & helpful, & Considering our assorted dietary needs, the meals Were very good. Was pleasantly surprised by the veggies of all things.. We were the last to leave, was either our rambunctiousness scared the rest off, or it was just that good of a night. Either way, its worth trying if you are staying at or near the Macq1 in Hobart
