Okura Robata Grill and Sushi Bar serves up a fusion of Japanese and California cuisine in a chic contemporary restaurant space that has an L.A./Hollywood vibe. Custom décor includes gold Kriskadecor chains hanging from the ceiling, a 4-foot high bronze Buddha and a life-size, petrified Japanese cherry blossom tree at the center of the restaurant. A “Geisha Angel” mural adorns a wall in the bar.
Beyond an expansive sushi menu, there is something for everyone including skewers from the Robata Grill, Salads, Toban Yaki Steak, Tempura, Chicken, Beef and Fish Entrees, and of course, delicious desserts like Green tea Panna Cotta. The full bar features signature cocktails such as the Geisha Girl and Lychee Martini, as well as sake, wine and beer.

You will be treated like family at Okura, where you can expect impeccable service in addition to premium quality food. We want to welcome you to visit us and enjoy the Okura experience!

We have only had take out from here until last night. The dining area is very nice. Decorations are pretty and tables are well spaced. Our server was prompt and helpful. The food has always been excellent and plentiful. Also, reasonably priced.

Beautiful restaurant in a convenient locations. The sushi is good. Nice variety of roles and hot mains to please the average restaurant goer, but it’s not going to wow the sushi connoisseur. Good cocktails, but a really terrible (pretty much nonexistent) wine list. Kind of shocking for a big stylish restaurant like this to have such a pathetic wine list. Thankfully there’s a great wine shop two doors down, so you can BYO and pay the corkage fee. All in all, we enjoyed the experience and were pleased with the service, atmosphere and food.

Edamame was good but sushi was just average. Service was good. But not a repeat.

The food was excellent as always. We usually have sushi but decided to eat from the kitchen tonight. My husband had the Chilean sea bass and I had the skirt steak. They were both cooked to perfection. The ginger lemon drop was delicious. As always the service is above and beyond. Thank you for another amazing meal.

We go to Okura Robata every few months. Great table service, great food, nice setting and plenty of parking. One of our favorite sushi restaurants in the area. But while the server staff is great, we need to make an observation about the front desk staff. We get it — these are likely college students, perhaps working their first "real" job. And we all know that phones have taken the place of customer interactions in the minds of many 20-somethings. But has no one ever given them any guidance about how to conduct themselves on-the-job? When they're representing someone else's business? We finished our dinner last night and headed for the door around 8:00PM. The restaurant was lively but not full and there was no one at the entrance are waiting to be seated. Of the three (yes, three) employees standing behind the host desk, not one acknowledged us in any way as we left. In fact, they never took their eyes off their phones. No, "Thanks for coming." No, "Have a good evening." No, "Hope to see you again soon." Zilch. (Good thing we weren't stealing anything...) We've dined at restaurants all over the Coachella Valley. In fact, we've visited many of the better restaurants around the country. And, even considering fast-casual and fast-food restaurants, this kind of "We're too busy/engaged/important/ignorant to say thank you" attitude just doesn't cut it. In any establishment. Dining out isn't just about the food — it's about the complete experience. In Okura Robata, you've got an establishment with great food and table service. It's a shame that whoever hired and manages these hosts/greeters has never taken the time to fill them in on the single most important part of their job — customer interaction. Nothing fancy — just, "Thanks — we appreciate your visiting us." Someone, give them some guidance. (I suspect that I'm not the only one who'd like to hear from the Okura Robata management with their view on things because these employees are the face of their business.)

Fantastic food and great service. We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and this was his first visit. We convinced him to try the Monkey Brain appetizer, it did not disappoint. We ordered the Sashimi sampler, the scallop carpaccio, 2 pieces of the monk fish sushi, vegetable tempura, and the lemon delight roll. The monk fish was not a favorite, but everything else was delicious. For those who are gluten free, tamari is available Michael D. was our server and provided excellent service.

Still a great option but prices have risen and size have been reduced. Sashimi still crazy expensive but in the past it’s been worth it. Now very thinly cut and no longer worth it. Expensive rolls are now smaller as well.
