This restaurant is one of our favorites in Playa Del Carmen. We come every year (for about 10 year or more) and have never, ever been disappointed. We have tried almost everything on the menu, enjoying staple favorites like the crispy garlic and rosemary flatbread or new dishes like the pan cooked scallops (get some baguette bread to sop up the sauce). We have recommended it to many people over the years and not one person has ever not agreed that it was one of the best meals they have ever had! The food, service and ambiance is always wonderful and on point.

We’ve dined at Oh lala many times since it was a new restaurant. We haven’t been to Playa del Carmen for 6 years, and are so happy to see that Oh lala was still open. Franco, our server provided outstanding service and the food was amazing. We had the lamb chops and octopus entrees - excellent choices! We enjoyed eating on the patio very much.

We went here about 5 or 6 years and were very impressed. We looked forward to our return but we were disappointed. This is still a small and attractive restaurant. The ambiance was spoiled by the music which featured the incessant thumping bass that is typical of many Mexican venues - it was badly out of place and was annoying. The service was very pleasant and attentive. The menu is bit of a mash up. Mains were heavy on beef. There were 3 fish plates, and some curries which seemed out of place but perhaps had migrated from the owner's other restaurant. We shared two appetizers: the special salad and duck confit tacos. The salad was fine. The duck in the tacos was a bit dry and flavor was overwhelmed by the spicy sauce and the chutney. We chose two fish plates. After returning from a month traveling and eating well in Provence, I was pleased to see a sea bass Provencal. Unfortunately, there was little of either bass or Provence. The dominant flavor was of a Mexican butter, possibly Presidente. The fish itself was flavorless. My wife's tuna was also lacking flavor. Perhaps they were previously frozen. Wine prices are through the roof. Bread and Butter chardonnay was selling for MX$1800. Chedraui supermarket has it on sale for about MX$350 minus 30%. It retails in the US for $12. A mark up of 6x is crazy, for a bottom shelf wine. Glasses of ordinary wine (2 reds and 2 whites) sell for MX$350 or about US$18, again crazy. Oh Lala is overpriced. The value is not there.

Oh La La scores a perfect 10 in the Olympics of dining at Playa Del Carmen. It is a cozy and warm small restaurant just a block away from the hustle and noise of Fifth Avenue. The food is gourmet and tastefully presented. You will find unique dishes, not seen anywhere else in Playa. The service is impeccable, knowledgeable, and courteous even when you spill your lychee martini on the menu. They are always present for any of your needs. It is easy to miss if driving in a taxi by keep your eyes open for white iron fence on the north side of the street near Tenth Avenue. Happy dining!

We had only one night out in Playa del Carmen so we wanted a nice experience. I read reviews in a Playa Facebook group and decided on Oh Lala. We made the right choice. Easily walked from our hotel to find a very intimate dining space. We were greeted by our waiter at the door and proceeded to have a lovely evening. We selected their craft cocktail, a very fresh burrata, peach, fig, tomato, crostini appetizer, with octopus and sea bass mains. They surprised us by remembering I had noted a birthday on the reservation. Warm and inviting - I can’t recommend them enough.

This was our second time at Oh La La! Once again we were amazed by the phenomenal quality of food and service. Our server Alex was highly knowledgeable and friendly, and made our dinner a wonderful experience. I said it in my review from last year, this restaurant is by far the classiest, best curated, and delicious restaurant in not only Playa del Carmen but the entire Quintana Roo region. A must go to in PDC, 10/10 ⭐️

Very good restaurant. I and a few other expats who live in Cozumel came over to PDC specifically to eat an Oh La La. Three of us had eaten there before and we brought another person who had not eaten there. The food was excellent across the board. The scallop appetizer might have been the best dish but it was hard to say. We ordered several appetizers to share (scallops , duck confit tacos, mushrooms in wine sauce and tuna focaccia ) and they were so good two of our group just treated that as their entree also. Two of us did have room for steaks and they were excellent also. We can’t wait to return in a couple of months.
