LOVE the food. LOVE the staff… so much so that we are cancelling our plans for the following night and will be coming back here. Met some friends for life and had a fantastic dinner + drinks.

Oao is an unfortunate study of opposites. While the food is refined, quickly prepared and served promptly, even when the restaurant is crowded and boisterous, the actual value proposition brought to the customer is not what this business should provide. To be more specific: 1. The prices are high, even very high, but after all, one expects that of a well-known and respected chef and owner. Frequenting that establishment implies that you adhere to these expectations 2. Under this business model and value proposition that you explicitly accept, you are entitled to the best the restaurant can offer Indeed, when informed that we were celebrating my dinner companion's birthday, our waiter behaved conspiratorially and assured us he would take care of "it". He proved equal to his word and graciously offered us a complimentary dessert. 3. And that after item 2, that I have fundamental issues with the way this restaurant treats his customers. -My dinner companion ordered the lamb chops (4) at $40.00. The waiter had the impertinence (obviously encouraged by his management) to charge $3.50 for a bowl of rice which should have been included with the entree. - When the bill arrived, we were charged a $5.50 kitchen charge. What is that ??? Is this restaurant not profitable enough to burden its customers with these "nickels and dimes" charges in total contradiction with its purported mission ?. A very definite stain on a well-deserved food-related reputation...

Great food and service. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because there were no parking spots available, and I had to park in a nearby lot and walk 15 minutes to get to the restaurant.

Our server, I wish I remembered his name, was fantastic. I don’t eat eel so I ordered a specialty roll without the eel and they were very accommodating. My husband doesn’t eat onion and they were very accommodating with that, as well. Don’t skip the steak and lobster roll - I forget what it was called but is was phenomenal. Also don’t skip on the vegetable tempura and Brussels sprouts. Both were so, so good - 10/10!
