Located on Charleston's historic Broad Street, Oak Steakhouse is a classic American steakhouse. A classic array of both wet and dry aged Certified Angus® Beef are featured on the menu. Ingredients are sourced locally and regionally from sustainable farmers and fisherman to accent the steakhouse menu. Items including local oysters on the half-shell, Clammer Dave's caper clams and a daily fresh fish selection depending on the season. Other popular dishes include the whole fried lobster, goat.sheep.cow artisanal cheese plate, wedge of Kurios Farms bibb lettuce salad, the house-made pasta and vegetarian plate. The expansive and impressive wine program at Oak Steakhouse emphasizes big California Cabernets and Old World reds from Italy and Bordeaux with more than 200 wines by the bottle and 20 wines by the glass. The bar attracts a loyal, local following from nearby businesses and neighborhoods with its great cocktails and happy hour. Inside a historic bank building that dates back to 1848, Oak's stately setting features three floors with five distinct dining areas. Arched windows, 20-foot ceilings, original metal work, fireplaces and 150-year-old heart pine floors, offers the perfect setting for enjoying a special evening.

From the OpenTable editors: In a historic bank building from 1848, Oak Steakhouse rises up three stories of leather booths, exposed brick, and cozy fireplaces. This is the place for seafood towers, Angus steaks, and bold Cabernets. It’s the heart of the Indigo Road group, helmed by James Beard semifinalist restaurateur Steve Palmer. There are now seven locations across the South, but none beat the original—Condé Nast Traveler calls it one of the best restaurants in Charleston, while others rank it among the best steakhouses in the country.

                                                                                              This will be the first of many trips to Oak Steakhouse. It was what you’d expect for New Years Eve, lots of sparkle and people dressed to the nines, very lively and jovial. The service was spot on, professional, knowledgeable, fine dining yet not in an over the top, pretentious way. I was quite impressed with the playlist! 😆 Our server, Jackson, was a joy. Being local, he shared some ideas of things to do for the duration of our stay, and couldn’t let us leave without ensuring we had the cornbread, which was an excellent suggestion. The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection (I’ll be buying the Cabernet Sauvignon when we get home) We’ve been to quite a few steakhouses and it is safe to say, Oak absolutely is in the top 5! Thank you for making our NYE 2025 memorable, I have a feeling we will be back next year from upstate New York. 😉 Cheers to a happy and successful 2025!

                                                                                              Probably the best oysters Rockefeller I’ve ever eaten. WOW!! Perfectly cooked fillet and the sides were fantastic. Our waiter, Brody, guided us to the perfect bottle of wine to pair with our meal. Finally, the peanut butter dessert was otherworldly.

The service was top-notch from the minute we stepped in the door. Our server, Ryan, was professional personable, knowledgable, and attentive. The food was amazing and probably the best meal we’ve had in Charleston in a very long time. We hope to come back soon.

                                                                                              Oak Steakhouse has always been one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston. Everyone is friendly and professional and our server Brody provided an excellent experience. Our steaks were delicious and the jalapeño corn bread is a must every time. The onion rings are light and tasty. The kitchen was accommodating to split salads to share. We are already planning our next visit.

                                                                                              We love the ambience of this restaurant. Service always too notch. We probably won’t order the Tomahawk again. It was a little undercooked and the filet was sooooo much better. Our family enjoyed the Carpaccio, pork belly, scallops and oysters appetizers. For side items the Mac n cheese was really good. I’d skip the mashed potatoes and opt for something else. The jalapeño cornbread is always a hit. The holiday cocktail menu was terrific and the pour a nice cocktail!
