   I love Oak bistro. I think they were shortstaffed today, so it took a while to be served. But the cocktails and the food are outstanding, and I love the coziness of this restaurant. It’s also not as loud as many of the downtown Boston restaurants. One of my favorites.

   I am a huge fan of Oak Bistro! This was our 2nd time there and I wondered if I would love it as much as the 1st time…. I did! Service was amazing - friendly and helpful. The food was unique and delicious. I was sad they didn’t have the seasonal pumpkin latte martini …but they made another great drink for me. We were celebrating my birthday and they brought out a special birthday treat to end the meal. Love it! If you haven’t been go… you’ll be glad you did!

   The little touches at Oak Bistro add up to a truly enjoyable experience. Our server Colleen was attentive and engaged during our brunch-time visit, answering questions and offering useful suggestions that had us stay a little longer to enjoy a post-meal cocktail. Highly recommended items here include the cornbread appetizer, whose composition changes with the season, and the carajillo, which is set to dethrone the espresso martini as the coffee-based cocktail of choice. Oak Bistro has waltzed right in to the short list of welcoming and satisfying dining options for me, and I’m sure it will do the same for you.

   We had a team diner of 11 people and 2 were running late. I was impressed by how kind, welcoming and helpful Noel was, despite the hassle I am certain this cause the poor kitchen folks. Despite our odd ordering cadence, every plate was perfection. The food here is always inventive, with exciting flavor combinations... but the plating is dazzling. Every course is an event, and I sit in an emotional crisis... of eating the fragrant and mouthwatering presentation... while not wanting to ruin such a perfect plate! The Fresca Lime Ricky (mocktail) was delicious. Who needs alcohol when such flavorful alternatives are available? Must try... Dee's Artichoke Cakes and the Thousand-Layer Crispy Potato Pave. (It haunts my dreams). For your main... this place does short-rib right so well. I had a special, but every dinner was devoured with enthusiasm. This was my 5th visit, and I have another planned in January. Add this to your list as a total GEM!

    - Very nice staff and friendly service. - A fun place with very good food (though a few things were not as good as they should be given the cost). Arctic Char = very very good, perfectly cooked, great texture if just a little under seasoned. Risotto = very little personality or seasoning (probably the only real disappointment of the night, given how awesome risotto CAN be and how good you'd expect it to be at this price point). Buttermilk Fried Oysters = completely awesome. Panna Cotta, Creme Brûlée and other desert items I sampled = completely wonderful. Banana beignets = no real flavor of banana, a bit dry and under-flavored in spite of being completely fresh (the coating very sweet and good, but the bulk of the dough very plain.) Drink menu = comprehensive, creative and very well executed - Incredibly loud and hard to hear conversation due to lack of any sound absorbing material on the walls. Even a modest number of people talking nearby at a slightly elevated volume is enough to make it very hard to hear. This would be an easy problem to fix, and is unfortunately the main reason we wouldn't come back soon, as it was an especially big challenge for one of our party with mild hearing loss, though something of an obstacle for all of us. - Awesome that you provided light on the tables for reading the menus. - The overall vibe was good, food was beautiful and well prepared, service was attentive and friendly and we'd very much want to come back if some of the above issues could be a little bit improved.
