Rengaya has been serving YAKINIKU in North Sydney since 1993, making it one of Australia’s pioneering Japanese barbeque restaurants. Now, that tradition is set to continue at its new digs on Miller Street – just a short stroll from the original location – in a much more modern, striking setting. The new fit-out features bar-counter seats around an open kitchen, red booth seating divided by Japanese-style timber panelling and a hard-to-miss chandelier. There’s also a 20-seat private dining room. We use only the finest ingredients such as Japanese Black Cattle made in Australia for beef, Sashimi and Seafood fresh from the sea. Rengaya is the restaurant foodies around the country have chosen.

    The food is fresh and amazing. Sashimi and. Wagyu are in pretty good qualities. It’s also a good place for anniversary and family gatherings. I love the Japanese umeshu especially the umeshu with hot tea. Lastly, the matcha basque got a wonderful balance of the matcha flavor and the sweetness.

    Every time we’re in Sydney, this is our go-to spot. If you’re into yakiniku, this is probably the best in town!

    Outstanding food quality and service. We went for the Gold Package and loved every single dish, especially the beef and ox thong. It was our 6th anniversary, and they were very kind, including a small decoration with a Christmas light of "Happy Anniversary", which was the cherry on the cake. 1000% recommended, and we look forward to trying the Ramen the next time

    The freshly shucked Tasmania oysters we had this evening is of premium quality, fatty juicy tasty; the best we had this year so far and the dish of the night. O-Toro sashimi and A5 Kagoshima Wagyu are good as usual. The only let down for this evening is the matcha cheesecake; it’s a bit too dry and hard compared to what we had in previous visits. Good friendly service as always.

    Every thing is amazing and we had a great experience dinning at Rengaya. My first visit was 6 years ago and Rengaya is the place to go for special days ever since.
