Noche is an authentic tribute to Mexican BBQ featuring popular smoked meats and sides cooked for family and friends during celebration. Aaron Diaz, founder and operator is bringing the classic Mexican BBQ flair to Louisville KY keeping true to Mexico's classic tingas, antojitos and unique salsas. Aaron was born in Texas and grew up with a unique Mexican twist on the classic backyard BBQ, surrounded by familia, memories and flavorful food. In Mexico a BBQ is more than just a gathering, it is a gesture of love when one cooks for all, creating a moment in time when a memory is tangible for eternity. We dined at Noche early on NYE as a family. The setting, in a repurposed church, is really striking, especially sitting up in the mezzanine section/organ loft. This was our second visit. Margaritas were on special for $5 and were tasty and balanced. We started with a trio of dips—queso, guacamole and tomatillo salsa, which were all good. Entrees consisted of pulled pork tacos, a chicken quesadilla, pork quesadilla, and chicken tinga tacos. Each was a large portion and well prepared. Our server was busy but very attentive and energetic. I appreciate the restaurant’s chef take on Mexican food.

We love this neighborhood restaurant. It's beautiful and the food is delicious. Recommended: the carnitas plate, the brisket plate and the pork tacos. Both plates have a 1/2 portions option and seriously, 2 people could easily split even the 1/2 plate if you order and appetizer, too. The guacamole is good - but we found it needed salt or more acid. Im sure that's just a personal preference. The carajillo cocktail is sneaky and so easy to drink. Our friend got the churro cheesecake and devoured it. Our server, Tommie was sweet and attentive. The only suggestion we could make has nothing to do with the food. The live music is great however it was extremely loud and we had a hard time communicating with each other over dinner. We may have stayed a little longer and had a few more cocktails if the music volume was just a bit lower. Keep the music but maybe start it later in the evening or be aware of the volume.

Loved the food and service. A cool atmosphere inside. One downfall was the really loud live music. Since tables are close together having a speaker and singers playing music literally a half foot behind us made it impossible to talk to our group and that was disappointing. Not ideal set up! (Although the singers were talented.)

There were 4 people in our party, and we all ordered something different. First, the positive: interior of restaurant was beautiful and relatively quiet. Considering they were not very busy at all (4pm), service was slow. The food was okay, presentation was better than the food. It was comparable to El Nopal, but twice the price. Definitely a one and done restaurant for us.
