Food was good. Service was OK. Very nice place. My issue was that tables are way to close to each other. Me and my friend could barely hear ourselves speaking because of the people on the table next to us. Didn’t want to make it a screaming match.

Our first experience at SBE's new MXO Steakhouse was subpar, food and service was mostly underwhelming, a waste of money!! Despite the restaurant being beautiful inside and out, the service, food and experience was quite bad. We were not seated for nearly half an hour, despite having a reservation and despite two seater tables available in front of our eyes. As we waited, a reservation for 4 came in and was seated immediately, no wait. It was very odd to go up and remind them that we have been waiting a long time and there's a table right there for two, and to finally get seated only based on my multiple reminders. We proceeded to order the ginger beer mocktail and various dishes to share which included the bone marrow dish, squash mole, carne asada, and broccolini. Our waitress was hard to find and when she did come by, she had no patience when we asked about various dishes (again it was our first time). After she left us instead of assist us with the decisions, we finally made our orders. Truly the only thing that was of SBE quality was the carne asada, the rest was pretty subpar. The bone marrow itself was fine as it is really everywhere, but the bread/melted cheese which the bone marrow should go on was terrible. I don't know if the bread was stale, but it felt like biting into a mushy grainy apple that has gone off. I think it's the first time in my life I was not interested in eating bread with cheese. Then on to the Mole squash dish -- I am quite a Mole fan -- this sauce had a tanginess that made it seem like something in it has gone bad, it just makes no sense for the warm chocolatey flavor of traditional mole. The broccolini was more edible than the mole but still had a weird tanginess that didn't make sense for the dish. Additionally, I had noted on our open table reservation that we were there for a bday (my husband's), but no one inquired about that. Finally, we tried to pay with our SBE giftcard and they wouldn't accept it!?!

I had an issue with my table. It was cold. It was extremely difficult to move the table and unnecessarily conflicting.

Service was good but the food was not great. Chef came out to say to I guess friends of his but didn’t even bother to say hi to any of the guests. Even chef Keller takes the time to acknowledge his guests who patronize his restaurant. Not impressed

Amazing food. The chips and selection of salsa, etc when you sit down is fab and not spicy with sour cream. I rec the gringa quesadilla, taquitos, the flour tortillas with the main - caritas mmmm & the flan chocolate cake desert was a phenomenal surprise. Drinks menu is super creative and staff attentive while being down to earth making the whole night a joy. DEF coming back. Ate the left overs today…

Wonderful experience at MXO! The food was delicious from appetizers to mains and deserts! We even had a moment when you realize “OMG we’re at a steakhouse and one of our guests is vegetarian!” And it was no problem because the fish and veg options were fantastic. The cocktails were also inventive, delicious and well presented and the wine list great. Staff was attentive and very helpful. The restaurant has a great vibe and visually is sleek, sexy and elegant

The pictures online are deceiving. It looks spacious, but the actual restaurant is smaller than expected. The tables are too small and close together. Not a comfortable dining experience. We were playing tetras all night with our plates (lack of room). Would not recommend.

good foood overall and everyone was attentive. primary feedback was the food came out incredibly quickly and felt like we were being rushed out from the minute we arrived the sweet potato taquitos were too sweet and the cheese on them too cold the aguachile and pork al pastor were great the beans were solid if not a bit soupy the rice was overcooked and / or needed to be soaked in water first
