Moro and Morito chef proprietors, Sam & Sam Clark, opened their third restaurant, located at 195 Hackney Road in 2016.

Morito Hackney Road's Head Chef, Sevan Tchivitdji, draws influences from Southern Spain, North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Morito has a concise offering of wines from the Mediterranean - primarily mainland Spain and Portugal - with a couple of lesser-known wines from the Canary Islands. There is a selection of sparkling, white, red, pink, and orange wines, with many available by the glass. For those looking to venture past these, there is also a list of Sherry and Vermouth.

Wonderful food, beautifully seasoned. My duck was excellent, though I wouldn’t have minded a bigger sized main course portion. The staff were very accommodating and moved us to a bigger table when we requested it.

Visited for a birthday lunch on friend’s recommendation. The service was just wonderful, the Bloody Mary was the best I think I’ve had and I’m quite old! The food was amazing and honestly we couldn’t have had a more fabulous birthday lunch experience. Thank you!

I was treating two colleagues to dinner and arrived half an hour early which didn’t bother the restaurant at all and when my colleagues were delayed the restaurant were happy to let me graze and served me drinks while I waited. When they were delayed dishes arrived everything was delicious. I really hope I get the chance to return soon.

Every single dish we received was cold (including the bread), and the servers didn't know what was in any of the dishes. I am allergic to peanuts and chickpeas, told the servers, and was still brought dishes with hummus and fresh chickpeas (and the servers had no idea that it was on the dish).

I had lunch earlier in the week with friends and everything was very good. Yesterday was different. A warm greeting was lovely. Bread arrived but no oil with it as previously. What spoilt the experience was the duck dish. The most expensive dish and a special it was very disappointing. It was not crispy it was hard and tough shards with no duck flavour. I told our waitress it was disappointing who was dismissive ‘ it’s crispy she commented The other dishes were delicious .

Amazing food, very slow and miserable service which was a shame! But worth it for the great food :)
