Momokawa is a nice compact restaurant on a quiet avenue. They serve lunch. Other Japanese restaurants do not. The service was excellent. The menu was extensive with many choices of beef and sushi. Dinners are prepared the traditional Japanese recipes so be careful what you order. I liked my dinner but my partner did not like the fish smell or her dinner. The smell is part of the traditional Japanese style. Our waiter graciously arranged a alternate dinner. I would recommend Momokawa.

Oh man this place was SO GOOD! The Miyazaki beef (above the wagyu) was the most tender beef we’ve ever eaten…and dipped in the raw egg was just pure perfection!

Food choices are excellent, with some terrific appetizers We enjoyed the fried chicken and black cod, as well as the Brussels sprouts and sushi.

"While I understand the need to inform customers of a timed dining experience, we were CONSTANTLY REMINDED EVERY 15 MINUTES about our time limit, which made the experience feel RUSHED AND FRUSTRATED. The waitstaff FREQUENTLY came over to hurry us along if we lingered on a course, which made the entire meal STRESSFUL AND UNPLEASANT. From the moment we ordered, we felt pressured to hurry through each course. This was a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, and despite Momokawa being one of my favorite spots on the Upper East Side, I will never go back after this."
