Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Mito - Babylon impresses with a "great menu with many choices" and "amazing quality seafood." Guests rave about the "fantastic ambiance" and "delicious food." However, service can be slow, and some dishes fall short of expectations. The buffet occasionally lacks freshness, but standout items like snow crab delight. Overall, a mixed yet promising dining experience.

Extremely disappointed with our visit to Mito. Had such high-hopes. Went for a 65th birthday celebration and requested a nice quiet table location which they provided, but that's all the went right. Amanda our server was virtually perfect but should have forewarned us of the cost of drinks and portion served. We first ordered drinks. My girlfriend a glass of wine and me, a whiskey neat. The wine had a price but the whiskey didn't so I figured between $20-$35 for a neat pour. Then we ordered the Dim Sum sampler for $18 which wasn't too bad. 4 different dim sum (2 ea) that were ok but nothing spectacular. For dinner, she ordered the Mongolian grill with shrimp, $26 + $4 for the shrimp, which was actually a good value because it came with 10 shrimp and a small bowl of rice. I ordered the Chilean sea bass with tomato compote and sautéed spinach ($45). When the meal came, my mouth dropped open at the size of my portion. The portion of spinach and the 3 pieces of fish I got were the size of a half dollar. It wasn't even 1 piece of fish, it was 3 tiny pieces FOR $45, and the tomato compote was 3 grape tomatoes that were stewed and plated ice cold, along with the cold spinach. The fish was warm but not hot. I was virtually done with my meal before my girlfriend placed her dish on top of her rice. In my 66 years of life, I have never been that disappointed with a meal nor ripped off so royally. If you've ever read some of my other reviews, you'll know I'm generous with compliments. Also, while other patrons were being serenaded with birthday wishes from the wait staff, nothing ever came of our wishes or complementary dessert, which I really didn't care about. Then to add insult to injury, the bill came. $181.00+ without tip. I NEARLY FELL OFF MY CHAIR. The whiskey was $65 for the 1.5 oz pour. I could have bought a really nice bottle of bourbon for that price. It's the first time I ever left a restaurant hungrier than I went in. Don't go.

The food was terrible. I was afraid to eat the sushi. It did not look fresh. I felt bad for the staff they were working the bar and waiting tables. It’s a great nice place but they have to get better food quality.

It was very bad. Nothing was hot food wise they had only a few items on the menu for valentine’s Day they booked everyone for 730 I didn’t sit until 815 drink at 845 apps were out at 915 returned both my starter and main meal because it was cold wanted the only desert on the menu and then they told me they were out then the waitress said ok we’re going to take ur meal off the bill and I was happy for that then she came back after 10 mins and said oh they aren’t taking it off your bill. I was beyond frustrated because I’ve been in the industry for 15+ years and that’s t how you handle that situation.

This restaurant was woefully disappointing, given its location and the quality of the establishments it replaced. The service was dreadful (waited 45 minutes for a drink order the server finally said they couldn't make, then 10 more to brink a drink -- but my wife was served hers in 10 minutes), the food was awful. It wanted to be fusion, but was just unimaginative and poorly prepared, and of course overpriced. Definitely not worth it. Walk past to Kotobuki for quality sushi.

They have moved to a buffet style experience. The food in mostly just not good. It was like it was sitting in a heat lamp for hours. The only thing that was good was they can sell you on 2 hrs of bottom drinks and the menu options for that is quite large. You have the ability to order food off a special menu and but here again it was mediocre at best. Unlikely to return

We visited the other night to try their AYCE option because they listed all you can eat Hokkaido Uni and Kumamoto oysters on their menu. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the Uni was out of stock and that it was not actually part of the AYCE menu as advertised. The cost per person is $58 and you get the buffet table, 1 alchoholic drink (soft drinks are unlimited) and unlimited seafood and meat (ordered via waiter/waitress) and an option to choose 1 of either Alaskan King Crab, Uni, O Toro Tuna, or Caviar, add $20 per person be able to choose 2 and get unlimited alcohol. We ordered The Alaskan King Crab, O Toro and Caviar. I suspect the "Alaskan King Crab" is actually the cheaper southern King Crab from South America as it was extremely watery and did not have the identifiable sweetness real Alaskan King Crab has. The O Toro did not look fatty at all or was a really low grade of tuna belly. The caviar was decent. While there were a lot of options on the buffet table, the food looked as if it had sat at for a while and was not appetizing. On a bright note, the snow crab was sweet and delicious. Service was slow as they only had 1 waitress on staff and she was also tending bar. We ordered Lobster Tail (Caribbean lobster), Japanese Sweet Shrimp, Scallops, Chilean Sea Bass, and Abalone from the seafood menu and can say the sweet shrimp and Chilean sea bass were great, the lobster tail, scallops and abalone did not taste fresh to us. For meats, we were informed they only cook their meats medium or higher which gives you an idea of the low quality of meat they use. The Lamb chops were good but everything else we had was just ok. The menu they have on their website feels misleading/false advertising as it states $78 per guest "includes all items above unlimited & all drink unlimited" but that's not the case. If you are on the fence about going here, just don't bother. We won't be back.
