   Casually, comfortably elegant atmosphere with classy service and great food. Appreciated both regular and non-alcoholic beverage selection. Perfect spot next to the Reser Center for the Arts.

   We were new to this place and excited to check it out before our show at the Reser. The server was rude and disrespectful, putting herself between my child and i, pointing out that there were root beer floats and Shirley temple’s he could order if he wanted which I find pretty disrespectful as a parent. She was upselling us at every turn and didn’t seem genuinely interested in engaging unless we took the bait. She had a very particular way of how the dining experience was meant to go and was aghast that we ordered drinks after the appetizer saying drinks were normally ordered first. The calamari was great. The flavors on the cod were…weird. Food was so-so for the price. Mostly just was annoyed at how our server treated us.

   My husband and I split the Mingo salad and the beet salad, since we couldn’t decide between the two. Both were delicious. We both had the cioppino and may have been the best we have had. So much seafood. We started our evening with the Mingo old fashion which was so good. You can’t go wrong everything we have had is delicious.

   We were seated promptly we were given water and asked for drinks. The waitress was very professional and service was excellent. The food was extremely tasty and my wife and I had a nice evening out

   Considering how many exceptional restaurants there are in the Portland area, it's a bit unusual that we choose to go to Mingo so often, but dinners like the one we enjoyed last Friday night are exactly why we do. It literally was one of the best meals, and best dining experiences, we've had in quite some time. As usual, the staff were friendly and approachable, even when informing us that the party ahead of us at our table was taking longer than they expected to finish up. So Michael, the owner, found a couple of seats at the bar took our drink order, which we enjoyed while we waited for our table. The wait was less than 10 minutes and no big deal...it was a busy Friday night during the holidays after all. When we were seated, it didn't take long for our server. Suzie, to come over, tell us about the menu specials for the evening and recommend what turned out to be a lovely bottle of red wine that we had with dinner. We split a crab cake appetizer and a Mingo (Caesar) salad and both were fresh and delicious. My wife ordered the daily ravioli dish and I selected cioppino, and we were both very happy with our entrees. The cioppino was packed with seafood in a delicious broth...I would definitely get it again. The entire place had a festive vibe to it, with a solid "hum" of conversation but it wasn't so loud as to make it difficult for us to talk with each other and with Suzie. It was an absolutely lovely evening from start to finish.

   There were six of us for our annual family Pre-Christmas dinner. We do this every year at a different restaurant, last night was perfect. Our server was great, the food was great, the cocktails were great. We had a great time!

    We’ve been coming to Mingo West for over 20 years. It’s consistently delicious + our sever tonight, Lee, did a phenomenal job. Keep up the great work!
