   242 Fusion sushi was our go to favorite restaurant for years and we loved everything about it. This was our first time back after Miki passed away and reopened under new management. I’m happy to say that we loved the experience and the food was just as we remember it (more expensive though like all restaurants nowadays). We tried many of our old favorites and also some new dishes that we loved. I like how we can make reservations on OpenTable now, because there used to be no reservations and there was often a long wait. The restaurant is very small and it felt more crowded than before, but I think that is part of the charm of the experience. Not somewhere you go to have a quiet, intimate dinner, but somewhere you go to a have great food, very friendly staff and patrons, and great energy. As you enter the restaurant and when you leave, everyone in the kitchen and all the servers look up and wave goodbye and say thank you for coming. We will definitely keep coming back as often as we can.

   My husband and I went for the first time as our pre-Valentine’s dinner. It was a cold, rainy night and the little restaurant was packed when we walked in so thankfully, we had a reservation. Their menu is a bit overwhelming, and the waitress helped us out due to the unique creations being confusing to us. We were amazed by the quality and taste of the dishes we ordered. The drink menu is small, with only a few beer and wine choices (my wine was $20 a glass, which seemed steep). The food was a good value, though. What was a little disconcerting was that before we were done with our meal, we were asked to move to a different table for another reservation (we had been there well under an hour at that point). That reservation still had not shown up when we left so it just felt weird to us. A very cool detail is that the sushi chefs are all female, and hearing the story behind that is uplifting. Definitely try Miki if you’re a sushi fan and like to find local spots.

   Exceptional, innovative and uniquely executed sushi and sashimi dishes. Hands down are favorite Sushi spot in So CA. We miss the Miki images that accompanied the dishes.

   Everything was delicious. So many unique items-like sashimi w habanero ice cream. The Bush and pond roll and Sexy hand roll were so good and the roll w the Cajun sauce! Everything is so fresh and the presentation is beautiful. Going back again next week.
