Chef Dunlap was previously the Executive Sous Chef at The Inn at Little Washington and the Corporate Executive Chef of Quirk Hotels (Quirk Hotel RVA & Quirk Hotel CVille). He was named as 1 of the 32 Restaurant Stars on the Rise in 2020 by FSRMagazine, Rising Star Chef of the Year by Two Roads Hospitality Worldwide, and has won Best Dishes at Broad Appetit 4 years in a row.

    Cake was dry and low quality. Tables too close together. Steak was good, but did not enjoy it covered in gravy. Potatoes were mediocre.

    Phenomenal experience! From the sourdough bread to Bulgarian red wine, melt-in-your mouth roasted chicken to chocolate coconut lime dessert … simply divine. Portion size was perfect, wait staff kind & knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

    We spent our valentine's dinner at the bar. The choices in the set menu were balanced, we ended up getting the same dishes - both the salmon tartare and the filet mignon were outstanding. In particular the way the meat was cooked (sous-vide) delivered such a unique experience. I am a meat lover and this was just out of this world, tender, perfect medium rare, warm all over, flavorful... wow! Respect to the team for a great experience.

    We have been to MCK before and enjoyed it very much. This time, we came for Valantine’s Day. Perhaps that was a bad decision in hindsight, because they only offered a prix fixe menu… contrary to the booking as listed on OpenTable. For the price (over $100 per person with a drink) I expected a little more. Presentation was boring. Food was not as tasty as usual. It wasn’t bad at all, but I came out of there thinking I may not go back. It was just not worth the price.

    I would have given a higher score, but the salad dressing was very sour. The duck confit was delicious, but the gnocchi were too large. Dessert was not good at all.

    Usually a great experience but our server was not up to par, forgetting the basics such as supplying stake knives and bread. Not the level of service one expects at this price point. The food itself was great with the exception of the desert, red velvet cake, which was dry. Part of me wants to blame it on the holiday rush but it was not overly busy at that time.

    Food is always amazing and creative. Our waiter was tremendous and very attentive but a few items were slow on the delivery. We will always come back. It is a bit pricey but well worth it!
