This is where it all started – on the banks of the Rappahannock River overlooking where we grow our oysters. We like to call Merroir a “tasting room,” just so people know to expect something different. Everything is either served raw or cooked on an outdoor grill, small-plate-style, and beautifully paired with craft brews and world-famous wines. Each menu item is singularly-focused, seasonal, and ever-changing, so there’s always a surprise in store.

    In a word…outstanding! It was a glorious Fall day, the Cava was cold, the oysters were fresh and EVERY meal was amazing! Being surrounded by good friends enhanced the experience!

    The view at this place is amazing. The food, at least what we ate, oyster, steamed shrimp, and chilled shrimp were ok nothing outstanding. The service was great and this is a good place to grab lunch if you are in the area.

    This was our first visit. We were seated outside as requested. The staff were friendly, yet they were busy and had a couple of large tables. The food (oysters, seafood roll and swordfish) and atmosphere were really good.

    We celebrated our 39th Anniversary at Merroir and it was an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere was amazing and the food, wine and dessert delicious. Our server made the experience even more delightful and took a picture of us to help commemorate the night. We will be back!

    We love Merroir. Unfortunately tonight was an off night for the kitchen. The raw oysters were delicious the burrata app was excellent the soup of the day was tasty. Unfortunately all of us had a fried oyster dinner either po boy or fried platter. All of the oysters were either over cooked or burnt. None of us finished our meal. Our server was so sweet and we were not interested in sending them back. We just chalked it up to a bad night. We will not get anything friend again.
