Mermaid Oyster Bar is a family of casually sophisticated seafood restaurants born in New York in 2003.

Starting out in Manhattan’s East Village as a spot-on rendition of a casual New England fish shack, The Mermaid Inn has morphed into an American seafood brasserie, replete with style, hospitality and a menu marked by bold and seasonally inspired cuisine.     We are long time fans of Mermaid and last night was Mermaid at it's best - the food was delicious and fresh, the service was well-paced and friendly, and the noise level was very comfortable.

    Great spot for a pre-theater dinner or if you have a large group. Service is quick and friendly. Food is delicious and plentiful, with happy hour food and drink specials. For special occasions like a birthday or anniversary, they'll bring you a complimentary ice cream with a candle on top!

    Great pre-theater dinner spot! Kid-friendly, with a good kids menu!! It was super packed for happy hour so it can get loud in there.

    Very good, casual place a block from the Times Square subway terminal, perfect for pre-show lunch or dinner or a post-show drink. Surprisingly great food. Excellent service.
