   We have been to Maypop multiple times and have always enjoyed the creative food and dining experience. Unfortunately, last night things were different. We had a 7:45 dinner reservation, but didn’t arrive until 8:00 due to parking difficulty. The person who greeted us advised it was not a problem. Another staff person comes along and proceeds to seat us at a table in bar area, next to hostess podium and right by front door (the worst table in the place). We advised the staff person we weren’t going to accept that table. She then tells us we can dine at bar or counter in bar area. We proceed to sit at the counter and after doing so, noticed 3 to 4 available tables in dining room. Unsure about the reservation status of those tables, we decided not to say anything. About 30 minutes later, we noticed the tables were still available and they stayed available throughout our dinner. It became clear there was no reason we couldn’t have been seated in dining room, especially since we had a reservation. We were treated like two people who walked in off the street with no reservation, and they had to place us in bar area because they had no tables. This was clearly not the case. I planned to question the person who seated us right before we left, but she was no where to be found. In hindsight, I should have asked to speak with the manager. It’s very disappointing when you’re a repeat customer with a reservation and you end up having a $300 dinner at a counter in bar, when there was available seating in dining room. Additionally, while food was good, it wasn’t great like it has been in the past and service was also not as good as it has been in the past. However, deliberately not seating us in the dining room for no reason was discourteous and impacted the dining experience. As another recent review mentioned, things seem to be slipping at Maypop which is sad. Needless to say, we won’t be making the long drive from the Northshore to go back anytime soon.

   Great experience! We had a table of 13 and the service and food was excellent. We did the chefs tasting and everything was outstanding. Would highly recommend!

   Miss how it use to be, food was much better before. I didn’t mind the price before but now doesn’t seem worth it. My wife returned her meal because she didn’t like it and I found the 2 tables next to use returned the same plate, so it’s not just us.

   Service as always was friendly and on point. They were open for Super Bowl week lunch and I took my friend who was visiting as part of the Green Legion (Eagles fans) and she moved the food and awesome service! And even though they don’t serve the Tasting Menu for lunch we asked if they could bc it’s my bday and the chef happily obliged!

    I’m very glad I finally made it back to Maypop and brought my family this time. I was here pre-pandemic for a work dinner and was blown away. It has totally held up. Amazing flavors in perfectly sized portions. Fantastic, attentive service. An all around lovely experience and I highly recommend!
