   Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience recently at Mastro's. The noise level, because of the music in the bar, made it impossible to have any conversations at our table. We had to ask for the bread and butter several times and sat there waiting while my husband and son were served their salad and soup. We finally got it as dinner was served. Very tacky that they charge $5.00 for stale bread and crackers in a place like that. I asked for my petite filet to be cooked medium, and it was rare in the middle. I took it home and cooked it to my liking the next day. My husband is in the food industry, so we understand the price of food. This was way overpriced given the product and meal we were served. We split meals, didn't all order apps or salads, shared one bottle of wine and didn't have dessert and the bill came to over $100 per person. We had a gift certificate, and it covered the tip! It was so disappointing as we had saved this meal for when our adult children were in town. We live here full-time, but we will never go again.

   Great steaks and sides. Only problem this night was one of our appetizers never showed up and I asked for steak sauce twice and it never arrived. Small issues, but a restaurant like Mastroes should get it all right. We enjoyed ourselves none the less.

   This really is the best tasting meal. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the music. Service was very good. The food was awesome. The flavor in the steak was amazing. I will be back again and again

    We dined on Christmas Day. It was pretty busy which was expected. They were able to accommodate us earlier than our reservation and I appreciated that. However the food was awful. We started with the bread service, then shared a wedge salad. The wedge was wet if that makes sense. It was like they washed the lettuce and left the water in it. Next the entrees we ordered both came out wrong. My husband ordered the salmon well done. It was undercooked and bland. I ordered the NY strip medium well. My steak was rare. Next the sides were Brussel sprouts and the lobster mashed potatoes. The Brussels had more meat than Brussels. My husband said the mashed potatoes were soupy and had bitter pieces of lobster. Overall not a good experience for Christmas. The night prior we stopped in for the butter cake which was delicious! I wouldn't recommend dinner but dessert and drinks are a must here.
